Default grudge match with a mustang input needed! (UPDATED) ran last night

Hi every one!

I recently picked up a 2000 z28 m6 (all stock) ran against a cousin with a 2013 GT 5.0 mustang stock with an axle back muffler setup

0 to 75ish I hold him 1/2 a car after that he pulls me about 2 car's, he is consistent 12.8x to 13.0x in the 1/4 mile and has made one 12.6x pass...

I installed a SLP loudmouth, Volant cold air, LS6 manifold so far will be installing pacesetter long tubes and ORY then a dyno tune

will i be able to run him down when i'm done?

how much horse power should all this get me at the wheels?

whats an average 1/4 time for this car with all this stuff done to it?

really want to see him in my rear view mirror

Well from the all the vids that i've seen and whatnot, a full bolt ons and tuned LS1 F-body will usually take down a newer stock 5.0 Mustang. You will probably be within 20 hp or so of each other, and you'll weigh a good 200 lbs less

That's weird I ran a stock 5.0 and he only ran a 13.5 I think his best for that night was a 13.3. But yea I think you will be in good standings with him. If he pulls a 12.6 pass probably not. because my mods in the sig minus the stall I ran a 12.9 with a crap 60'. so I agree with HCI2000ss

If you can get out of the hole good and can shift quick i think you can get him. A gear and tires would help quite a bit too.

Full bolt on and tuned LS1 Fbodys make around 350rwhp. I think stock 5.0s dyno 360-365. I would say your best bet would be throw a 4.10 gear in and go from a dig. He may still have a little bit of an advantage though.

UPDATE:

well things got interested last night with the GT 5.0! before as i said he'd get me 2 to 3 cars and RUNNING away from me by the time we hit 100 to 110mph was never any sense in going any higher. last night we played around a little from a 60mph roll and now he slowly pulls me 1 1/2 cars @ 130mph! we never had a chance to get a 1st gear hit where I would pull him a 1/2 car till 75-80ish mph

mods:
TSP Lt's 1 7/8
Pacesetters ORY
SLP Lid
SSRA
Ported TB
Ditched the Loudmouth resonator installed magnaflow 14419
Ls6 intake manifold swap
MSD wires
NGK plugs
HPM adj. lower control arms
UMI adj. panhard bar

its getting dropped off monday to get dyno tuned, right now the SES light is on from the 02's and the EGR & Air

how much difference would the tune make? any one think the tune will give me the a couple cars lengths?

Just depends on how much your current tune is off. Do you have any plans to add a pulley?

I have just the under drive crank pulley but really not sure I want to install it? I've herd it can cause a problem with charging and in traffic make the car run a little hotter

is it really worth to install it? if its just 2 -3HP i'm thinking its not worth it?

You won't have charging problems with it. I can almost 100% guarantee it as long as your stock alternator is in fine working condition. Also, if you have NEVER had your car tuned, you should be able to expect about 10-15rwhp out of a tune. The stock tune has alot of "safety" built in to it to protect warranties and the cat converters, etc.

You will be fine with an underdrive pulley. I ran my car with an underdrive pulley plus the alternator underdrive pulley which slows the alternator even more. This was for 10+ years in the Florida heat...

a tune will not get you car lengths but it will help if you have a good tuner
