No, I do my burnouts around 5000rpm, but you don't need to drop the clutch at 6k to get the tires to spin. If you have a lack of power or not enough water on the tires, then that is another issue altogether. But I think the OP problem is that he is using the brakes for his burnout rather than a linelock.
