Our rear factory rotors are fairly light, much lighter than the front rotors, and the calipers are tiny aluminum ones. I never weighed them on a scale but i'd take a guess and say the calipers are maybe 7-8lbs each and the rotors are maybe 8-10lbs each. That's with the e-brake hardware removed. I just don't see how ANY aftermarket drag brake kit is going to drop 20lbs. Unless it's all titanium lol. For bang-for-the-buck mods rear drag brake is not a good choice.

Considering the oem backing plate is steel(Strange brake kit is aluminum), a steel dust shield, all the e-brake parts(cables, lever/adjuster, shoe), and a larger OD, double sided, vented rotor is all there to be replaced. The Strange rear brake kit complete weighs only 23.7 pounds for both sides. Just a stock front rotor is 28.4 pounds, a stock rear rotor is 23.1 pounds each. It's an easy 25+ pound loss.
It's a pretty simple situation... Strange brakes are one of the best weight reduction items you can buy and with it being a rotating part this whole subject is a no-brainer.
If anyone has an inquiry about any component from Strange feel free to contact me. I have years of experience with their parts and offer the guaranteed lowest prices as well.

very well said, I have been studying this, and fir the price its not bad, I can sell my stock stuff online for over $100. and if I get the strange now I don't have to send in my stock stuff, also if I don't do it now, it will cost me more later with pulling the axles and doing bearings, so YES I answered my own question

also you can run way more rims. any weld, holeshot, champion ect.
jolster it dose save a bunch. I posted all it up, I had the pro2 and std rotors rear, and front kits. the Pro2 rotors are 1pound lighter, but the hat thickness is about .090 more then steel 1pcs. and they have a inner lip for the big ring that holds the rotor on the hat. I dont think strange has a pro2 rear kit anymore for a stock spec for us? I got one but there no caliper bracket that will work with the pro2 rotor, unless you space out the rotor on the axle, and caliper. So it will add about 3/8, 1/2 width to the rear end and you would have to change you rim backspacing, and it was kinda getto was a rotor spacer, and stacks of caliper spacers.
I posted the weights, but I think it was the rear rotors were 14pounds lighter then strange steels. And the Ebrake stuff for the backing plates to the hanle was 12.8? or somthing? thats the rear cables, the rear end cover cable brakets, the mid cable and splitter, and the handle. The handle was 7-8 pounds. if you want to get it all, you can drill the spot weld and get the cable spitter plate under the DS tunnle, and trim the metal on the top side for the handle (I kept the metal to bolt the consel) that was 2-3. then seal up the slot the cable passed the floor.
at the track I didnt really see a gain, and jason with the geen H/C LT1 (been 10.8s) did it back to back a few days apart. didnt see a gain. It one of thouse things that adds up, but it not gona be 1 tenth. maybe .02 on a 11-10sec car.

I'm not doubting the value of Strange stuff, they make great products, I run an S60 rear, and will be buying the front brake kit sometime down the road.
