Default 60' Assistance

When to the track for the 1st time on new set up and but fill alot more is possible. I'm was wondering if tires are 100% the issue or could I get better results without getting new tires.

Current Car Set up:
lid and headers Stock LS1
TH400 3800 Stall, RMVB (has break but not using it)
Quick Perfonmance 9in Detroit Locker 3:25
LCA are second to the bottom
Pinion Angle: cant recall I know it would help greatly
Tires: Sumitomo HTR Z 315 R17 @22PSI warm

Ran a best of:
60'- 2.09
ET-12.80 (Edited)
MPH- 108.8

I fill like there is so much more in her would like personal thoughs and ideas to get the most outta her on this setup before the upgrades.

Thanks for the assistance. and below is the time slip.

Drag radials are going to be a starting point, and will make the most difference. Some M/T's for street/strip use or Hoosiers for strip only.

Mickey Thompson drag radials. I run mid-low 1.7 60' with them all day long.

The biggest issue with your setup is definitely the street tires, if you put a good drag radial on the car would see a substantial improvement in both the 60ft times and the ET. The first thing I would do if I were you would be to get a set of drag radials or slicks. I personally like the Mickey Thompson tires but any drag radial or slick will be better than what you currently have.

I was thinking of hooiser QTP... but I dont want the tires to do all the work, or compensate for lack of a tuned suspension.

With the street tires you have it will be hard to see what the suspension is or isn't doing for you because of the lack of traction. If you have a track that is prepped really well you may be able to make the street tires work but they are still only going to hold so much power.

Smart enough to get all of those modifications done, but on regular street tires (THE MOST important needed for traction). Then wonder why the car won't hook. I never understood that.

I started from the back to front so i dont break parts... I dont want to build what i break... If the car is down I want it to be my doing for upgrades or maintence, not because the rear end is at in pieces.

Why the 3.25 gears? Something steeper would undoubtedly work better.

Put some drag radials on then come back if you still have traction problems, right now with some of the worst street tires out there all your other traction mods aren't worth anything. Also I'd put the lca's in the lowest hole, I havent met anyone yet that got better traction with them in a higher position, especially if your lowered at all front or rear

You are on the right track. Do yourself a favor. Get the Hoosier quick time pros. They are a D compound just like the slicks. If those babies don't hook your car up, you got other problems. Other upgrades should include rear control arm relocation brackets adjustable everything and definitely adjustable Shocks. Relocate your torque arm. And get a anti roll bar. Your car will snap your neck, stay straight, and look like your on a Sunday afternoon drive going down the track.

Another vote for hoosier QTP's...very sticky and forgiving tire with soft sidewall. They don't last long with street driving though. OP, at the very least get some drag radials such as Mickey Thompson or Toyo Proxes if you street drive on them a lot.

Thanks for all the input, but to answer a few questions

3:25 Turbo later on
Already have TQ Arm Relocated and the rear has mulitple locations for the LCA Already,
Stock ride height but gonna try moving LCA down to the bottom hole before next track day.

Ive been reading all morning on trying to decide on Hoosier QTP or there DOT Drag Radial... looks like the votes are for QTP, but with would it be better with or without tubes? Ive head both?

Tubes seem to be mostly personal preference and will probably depend on how much street driving you do. I run tubes because I like the stability on the top end and I street drive with my QTP's once in a while. If you use tubes don't forget to screw your wheels.

No tubes in my QTPs and they are fine on the street and strip. Get bias fronts of course....but tubes would only be required (IMO) in high HP cars or really high speeds.

But you're an auto...rock an MT ET Street Radial.

Your problem is tires.
If you street drive your car more than track then just get mt drs. I love hoosiers for track but they wear fast. Mt drs are plenty for my car and are more than plenty for yours.
