no need to be a ******** about it SIDEWAYZOZ.

BPLS1, you need to waayyy more specific on your 502 setup like...which horsepower version of the 502 is it? whats the weight of the car, what gearing? what suspension setup? what elevation of the track? what tranny? stall convertor??

Nothing at all...this section is plainly labeled street racing and kill stories...the question he posed related to neither. I was just stating that maybe he will have better luck posting in a more relevant forum. I wasnt trying to be an *** about it...but the sections are plainly labeled...seems to me that he would have put this in Drag Racing or some other section rather that this section. Maybe some of you guys dont give a f**k, but I for one would like to see posts at least put into the right sections. If you have a problem with that then take it to pm.

Since I was such an ***...I'll offer my 2 cents worth (Apparently 1 cent in enisguy's eyes). If you are going to get a 502 crate motor, I think you can get them with either 502 hp or 450 hp, but its been forever since I have looked at these. Either way, you should push some really nice numbers. Should definitely be a sweet ride. Your track times will heavily depend on the weight of the vehicle and traction. It also depends on how much power you get out of that 502...give us more details and I am sure we can figure something out.

my buddy in a 70 cehvelle had the crate 502 with the 500 hp setting. He had weld drag lites and 3.73 gears and flowmasters. He ran a best of 12.1 this was with a turbo 400. fast car and I believe it weighted around 3500lbs.

I'd say with traction you'll see lows to high 11s. A guy here has a 69 Camaro with a 502/502, a Turbo 400 with a mild convertor and decent suspension with full interior and no fiberglass anywhere and 3.42 gears. Best he has gotten is 11.90 at 113.

Good luck with it, the torque should make for a fun ride

Ty

Just for that Smokin01 I order you to go to the track tomorrow and get a good timeslip (since Ive been waiting forever to see yours lol)

After rethinkign this again these guys are on the money. I would venture to think with a loss of 15% through the rear end you could push 425~ to the wheels, which puts you right in the 11 second range with a 3500~ lb raceweight. If you can drop your weight to near 3k and launch at a high rpm I would think you can put down some low 11's, maybe a 10. Be sure to let us know how it all works out once its done. I promise I wont bite you next time
