How in the F@%& do I hook up??
Bald BFG's didnt hook at all, and when I borrowed Trevors ET Streets I couldnt get it hooking for more than a foot and a half (track prep may have been the culprit there). Is my car blessed/cursed or is it me.
It feels like I roll into the throttle smoothly, but as soon as I get to that one point in the peddle, the tire go up like 50-pound smoke bombs on the 4th of July.
I got some extra wheels finally (3rd gen camaro 16's...theyre actually a little lighter than my TA wheels) and I guess Im gonna throw some 26x11.5-16 ET's on. What else should I do????
It may be time for a driving lesson from the Trevor....

Sorry if I'm repeating something you've heard already.

Trans Am A4-Vig3200, 3400# or so. No front swaybar, BFG's at 18-26#, ET Streets at about 14-15#. Im sure it me or the track, but any tips or trick would help
TIA

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
with the vig3600, headers, and all other bolt ons im cutting 1.62-1.64's on nittos at 21-22psi
but at a bad track i will only cut 1.8's-1.9's
so in your case it has to be the track...
et streets will hold 1.4's atleast so u cant be over powering them...
i say just get to a different track.. does anyone else have traction probs at that track?

The age of your borrowed tires could be a factor as well... I was fighting traction problems awhile back, and finally realized that my damn tires were just worn out. They don't last forever. Expect 125-150 passes on them (depending on the car) before they start going south in a hurry. I replace mine after 100 or so runs, because I can't afford inconsistant performance with my bracket racing efforts.
After you have a known "good" set of tires on the car, and still can't hook, you'll have to start looking into other areas to find out what's wrong with your setup.
If you're going to try the 26x11.5x16's, I'd start out with about 16psi cold, and go from there. I wouldn't go much lower than 14 or so with a 16" tire, because there isn't alot of sidewall.
