Congrats Stephen!! Once the really cool weather gets here and your solid lift cam goes in, you'll be running 9.5Xs. Awesome Job, wished I was there! <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0">

Like 5-6 people told me at the group dyno day at FLP that you had cracked off a nine second pass.
When I called you, you were pretty laid back about the whole thing. Were you drunker'n a skunk on DNA wine coolers? <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0">
CONGRATS!

LOL! Resident badass...tehehe, thanks. <img src="images/icons/blush.gif" border="0">
1/2 the time? Heck, I'd be happy if it did work half the time. More like %20 of the time so far. I'll have it working right the next time I go....(I hope anyway.)

Way to go Colonel! I've been waiting to hear about you in the 9's for awhile now! Simply awesome!!!!!
Exactly what kind of probs are you having with the t-brake? Does it just not engage at all? How are the grounds from the solenoid?

For those of you wondering about my setup...
MTI 422 with their S1 hydraulic cam (244/244 .612/.612 112) 12.2:1 compression (runs fine on pump gas.)
MTI ported stage III LS6 heads
Whisper 1 7/8 headers
Shifts are at 6800
TH350 Transmission (2.75 1st gear and a transbrake) I used the Yank conversion kit.
12-bolt Moser with 4.10 gears and a Eaton HD posi unit
29x10x15 Hoosier slicks
Raceweight of about 3075 lbs
Otherwise stock style suspension with a Wolfe Racecraft swaybar

Thanks George! <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0">
I am pretty sure that my T-brake woes have been due to a lack of voltage.
Before this weekend I was running a very weak dry cell battery. That's why the T-brake would always work for the first pass and then quit. At that point the car would just BARELY start.
This weekend we had a red top Optima battery in the rear and again the brake worked on the first pass. For the second pass we pulled the belt (that's the first and LAST time I do that!) thinking we might pick up a little more trap speed. With no alternator turning, the T-brake didn't get enough juice. At least that's what I think happened.
BTW, we didn't pick up trap speed with the belt removed. In fact, we lost a half MPH but made it up on the 60 ft time. The engine was VERY hot by the time I crossed the line! I think that and the lack of voltage to the coils might have cost me that 1/2 mph. Next time the belt stays ON!

Yeah Colonel, those t-brakes need a lot of juice to work properly.
As far as you slowing a little w/o the alternator, it's not a surprise. Long story short: I had some probs awhile back with the connector on my alternator, and it would occasionally pop off, and I'd have no alternator. The car would drop off quite a bit, especially in the higher rpm's. These late model EFI cars need a lot of juice to keep everything going (fuel pumps, coils, PCM, etc...). A lack of voltage kills 'em.
Now, all you need to do is get liscensed, and have your chassis certified. Then you'll be good to go! <img src="images/icons/grin.gif" border="0"> <img src="images/icons/wink.gif" border="0"> <img src="images/icons/grin.gif" border="0">

That sounds like a pain!
I'll also need a 10-point cage, a full fire suit, a neckbrace, and a battery box and shutoff. Where to get a chromoly 10-point? Will I need a fire extinguisher? Anything else? Hmmm...?
