Thinking of switching to these rather than my 26x11.5x16's. Hopefully to give me a tad more gear. Anyone have problems hooking with them? Who's running them?

F**K going smaller; get more HP and use the tires you got!
OnyxSS has used that size with mixed sucess. Hooks sometimes and other times has some spin.
Seems like the issue is a bit track specific; the better the prep, the less tire you can run. I'd look around at your track and see if anyone has good sucess with them.

Thanks for the reply's
Only thing that worries me is that 1in. less tire contacting the pavement. Track prep sucks around here Of course, I do have a habbit of those John Force burnouts
May end up trying a drag tire....I dunno...

track prep around here isn't much better, i can guarantee it. but i'll agree with mixed launches. it's usually 1.5-1.6, but i'll get the mixed in 1.7 on the 100 shot. guess not a good enough burnout sometimes, or those damn ricers draggin up the water

actually you are giving up 1.3" That's a lot of width to loose.

Thanks for correcting me! That is alot to lose...
Are you going to stick with the 26.10.5's John?
What do you guy's think about these Hoosier slicks?
26x9.0x15
26.1 OD
9.0 Tread width
on a 15x8 rim
Compared to the ET's I'm running now, I'm losing .7in's tread. But, it is a slick. How much difference between a ET Street and lets say a slick (traction wise)? Would I have problems with these growing too much on the top end?

Not sure, we'll have to see how the suspension mods work out. Traction hasn't been an issue up till lately.
I have some other issue's happening (Torque Management) that have taken most of tuning time for now. I plan to add control arms, Hals, tubular k-member and maybe a TA. After I get some MUCH needed computer tuning done, the suspension is next, already have some of the parts on they're way .

I'm still using the 26x10.5x16's. They are actually better for a lot of setups than the 11.5's cause they're lighter and smaller in diameter, giving a slight gear advantage. But now that mine are worn out, I'm going to step up to 11.5's, cause I'm on the brink of outpowering them.

I run 26x10.5 et street on my car and I agree with the mixed launches. Nice track prep and they hook great, a track not preped and you get some spin. I have been able to cut mid 1.6 60 ft's with them.

Thanks for the reply's
I have decided to try the slicks Going to give the Hoosier's a chance to see how they do. I'll give a update in a few weeks With the tracks around here, I have to find some more traction!
