Opinions on full vehicle combination...
I've been thinking of a setup for an all out Friday night car that I can drive to the track (10 highway miles), run 10s, and drive home. This is how far I have gotten:
1977 Nova ~3500 to 4000# (best guess)
2004 LM7
Bottom end
3.905"/3.622"
Forged H beams/Dish 2.2cc pistons
0.051 HG
XR281HR 110 ICL 112 LSA 228/230 @ 0.050
Top end
TEA 2.5 5.3 Heads 64cc 2.04I/1.55E
FAST 102/ 102 TB/ 102 MAF
NX Plate system for 150 hit
TH400 2.48:1
2600-3000 stall
9" 35 spline
4.10
28" tire
Suspension
Rear
Caltrac mono leaf
Caltrac bars
Caltrac 9 way adjustable rear shocks
Subframe connectors
Front
Moroso Trick Springs
Caltrac adj. shocks

You have a decent setup thought out so far. What I would change....
I would do a 2004+ 6.0, and keep it stock bottom end. I would also not spend all of that money on a FAST 102, I would do a Edelbrock Vic Jr with an elbow, and just run a 4150 plate wet kit on the car. You could easily spray 150 on a stock bottom end 6.0, and most likely push it up to 200 by keeping the tune in check. My buddy did a nitrous setup on his car for a little bit. His results can be found here:

Lastly, I would not do a 4.10 gear. You would be fine with a 3.70 gear, and maybe even a 3.50. Considering you will have a lot of torque off the line with the juice. My buddies 6.47 is essentially a 10.10 in the quarter. And that was on about a 125 shot.

I like the intake and elbow idea, beats the $1500-2000.00 in FAST stuff. Honestly never knew they made the carb style intake with machined injector bosses. Unfortunately, I already have a LM7 tore down and ready for the machine shop. My first search for a new engine was a 6.0 but I couldn't find one local that was in good shape (<200,000mi.). I guess its time to begin looking again, I think the XR281 would benefit more from a 6.0 bore rather than the 3.780 5.3l.
