First outing on the juice!
First outing on the juice! Went to my local 1/8th mile drag strip on Sat (20Sept14) to test out the Nitrous and I think the car performed well.
A quick rundown of the car:
00' Trans Am
Stock Shortblock (Katech rod bolts)
TEA Stage II 243's
Martin (Tick Performance) Custom Grind
Vic Jr Intake
6061 Elbow
95mm PTM TB
NX 4150 Gemini Twin Stage 6 Conversion plate
Mainline System with 10LB Bottle (.125 Fuel noid, .078 Nitrous noid)
Jakes perfomance Stage II Th400
RMVB with Transbrake
4500 Nitrous Converter (Stalls to 4250 on brake)
PST 3.5" DS/Moser 9" 3.89 gear
Strange SA shocks w/300# springs
CE Rear shocks (Summit special) w/Stock rear springs
Founders Control arms, BMR Tq Arm
MT Pro 275
Car ran a best of 7.2@96.8mph on MOTOR 1.60 60' (Off the Transbrake)
With a 52N 28F (E85) jetting it ran a best of 6.47@106.8 mph 1.43 60' (No transbrake, leaving off idle) at around a 3300DA (It's on a mountain) (Note-Nitrous comes in at 2800rpm off idle and I shift around 68-7000rpm) Not the best, but heres the video of that run-
(Edit: Have not weighed the car, estimated weight is around 3300-3400lbs)
I plan on moving up in jet size real quick..lol But all in all the car ran real well and for it being my first time on nitrous. It's addicting!! The way the power comes in is ridiculous. Figured I would share my first experience with the Nitrous, hopefully the 6XN jetting will make it even better. Looking to take this thing into the 9's.

Thanks man! I'm hoping with the bigger jets I can hit those 6.20 marks. I have a couple of other things to do besides just up the power. There is still plenty of stuff to help drop weight; I also need a drag bar, I've actually bent the stock sway bar a little. So with more power, a little less weight, and good weight transfer I think I will be damn close.
How much do you think I would pick up (ET wise) off a nitrous spec'd cam? Also, the tune isn't quite where I want it to be, as in my AFR's go a little rich then lean, but thats the elevation and VE table needs a little more dial in. Also with bringing the power on at 2800rpm, I want to be extra cautious with the heavier jetting due to that stock bottom end lol
The car currently has a TR6 plug at .035". But on E85 and the juice I don't know if I really need to go to the BR7 plug on the 200.. Just more research and tuning I guess.

Verdad Gallardo The plate I have requires two jets for fuel and nitrous. It's all a single stage setup... The jetting calculation came out to be around 122rwhp with the plate vs noids setup I have. However the nitrous solenoid can no longer support a heavier shot with this plate. I'm moving up to the .093" orifice (NX15200L) then the 52n/28f will be an actual 150rwhp shot. Then move up to the 57n jet which is the 200rwhp shot on this plate.
Deal... Ordered the BR7's today. Want to see if I can do work on that 200 shot. Any "guestimates"?

What jets are currently in the plate? A 52 jet is 100 at the wheels. But if you have two 52 jets in it you are already spraying 200. What solenoid do you currently have on the nitrous side. I believe you were flowing about 175 to the wheels if you were on 2 52 jets.

Lol.. I understand the calculator says 200. I have the NX Mainline .078 orifice nitrous solenoid. A 52n(x2) jet and a 28f(x2) jet in the plate currently.

That's what I was trying to figure out. I was under the impression, I think as well as others that you were on a single 52 jet. I was curious because our times our similar with myself doing 7.3 on motor and 6.55 on a two stage with a .047 and .052 brought in over .5 seconds. Just trying to clarify, thanks for the details.
