Default 2002 Racing season, what changes are you making / have made

Since last year, Project Dragula only seen one change:

*Shorty dual exhaust

But there are a bunch of changes coming up that all feel pretty good:

*Dyno tune at Speed Inc. with BV Performance (move shift points from 6100/6200 to 6600/6600, redo overall tune)
*Installation of rear QA1 drag shocks
*Reinstallation of V8 springs in back
*Installation of Hotchkis panhard bar
*Gutting of factory carpet
*Removal of the front bumper support
*Purchase and installation of PA K frame and A arms.
*Removal of factory powersteering
*Removal of factory ABS
*Installation of TCI linelock
*Installation of B&M Megashifter

We're not sure that my 26x11.5x15 ET Streets are gonna cut it after the changes. I may go to a 27 or 28" Hoosier.

May also do a liteweight bolt'on hood.

I'd like to see the car run mid 10's at 130mph.

Hi Tony.

I've more or less told everyone my changes, but:

4.10 12 bolt / posi
MMS 229v3.1 camshaft
TP4400rpm stall
Put my reverse flow ewp back on the car in a way that I can turn it on for the strip and use the stock pump for normal driving
Remove ~50# of weight (pass seat, dyna-batt, etc)
Port match my LS6 intake
Switch to 28" slicks and get a low 1.5 60'!

Try to resist installing my 375ci iron block motor, or a 388 all bore motor.

Pulley, ET streets/prostars, lockup switch, tuning/TM delete. 11.5s from 11.8s?

im going to pretty much have a whole different car this year. changes that will be done by the time it hits the road (hopefully ~April 1st)

Front QA1's and springs
Rear QA1's
Wolfe swaybar
Madman Torque Arm
BMR subframes
probably going to change the control arm setup since my rod ends are trashed
remove ABS module
remove bumper supports
Solid roller cam
396 shortblock
LOTS of new motor parts
rebuilt tranny & clutch (first thing D&D said is that they could tell i shift really hard )
switch from 28x10.5 to 28x12.5 et drags
adjustable clutch slave
remove some extra wiring
remove passenger airbag and sensors
17" SS wheels
MMX Composite alum driveshaft instead of my MW chromoly one
new dual exhaust to replace last year's ghetto dual exhaust
LS1 tranny crossmember
rebuild rearend

changes i would like to make later in the year:
dyno tune
build second fuel system
fogger nitrous system (or at least a 250hp nozzle setup if im broke)
Tubular front A-arms
manual steering?
aftermarket steering wheel and remove drivers airbag
fiberglass hood
shaft rockers
gear change if i get nitrous back on
better cage (probably have to wait till next winter)
F.A.S.T. (speed pro)?
Real front runners instead of 165 radials? (depends on if i like the SS wheels on the street or go back to running the pro stars on the street)

btw, i just have a crappy ol' LT1

Since running my 11.08 ET, I've got these changes underway:

- Sold the 382ci LS1 motor, installing a 432ci LS6 motor
- Installed LG Motorsports torque arm and LCAs
- Installing HAL shocks all four corners
- Replacing 15x8 Weld Draglites with 15x10
- Dyno tuning with LS1-EDIT
- Maybe Holley Intake (depending on flow tests)
- Maybe 1-7/8" stepped Dynatech headers

GOAL: Quickest hydraulic-cammed, NA 6-speed with NO weight removed! Full A/C, full interior, full accessories. 10.50s?

Tony

Chris

Not too much in the works right now aside from

-FTRA
-Going from 16" Draglite XP's to 15x10 Draglites

Now, if I win some $$ while on vacation the week after next you can add...

-LS6 intake
-Headers
-HALS
-SFC's

Priscilla, Here is a link to some local tubed and screwed 15x10's, a friend of ZNines...

I think he would take $350-400 if he still has them...

http://www.lt1tech.com/cgi-bin/ultim...&f=13&t=000123

Looks like T-Dawg is steppin' it up I'd like to see him shift a 10.5@130mph.

Well since I've finally got back to be able to turn a wrench on this thing(its been since May that I've been down the track ) it would probably be easier to list what I didn't play with

This has what's changed since the last time I went down the track:

rebuilt short block
JPR stage 2 heads
Thunder 224 cam
LS6 intake
'01 oil pump
JPR tubular electric water pump
LS1 edit
a couple electrical squirrel mods
B&M Trans cooler
PA racing CM k-member and a-arms
BMR upper a-arms
Jay Billingsley "race" LCA's
Jay Billingsley "race" APHB
Complete Hal Setup
longer wheel studs
ET Drags
ET Fronts

Also I removed about 400-500lbs I guess you can say I'm the opposite of Tony and want the LIGHTEST raceweight on the board

Hopefully I can get back to the track before the good weather runs away.

I just want to get my car back together...

I've removed a little weight, built a complete new fuel system, freshened the tranny, and added a transbrake...

My new motor is being put together by ARE (Nick, is it done yet ), and will be a little more "hardcore" than the last setup. LS1 Edit will handle the tuning chores. The new motor will also probably necessitate a torque converter change from my trusty old 10" JW 4500, but I'm not messing with that until I get some shakedown/tuning runs with the new motor.
