Default Ladder Bar suspension launch video. Shock setting suggestions...

How does this look to you? These are easy 1.5X launches around 3-4psi off the T-brake on a 3500RPM 2-step. If I launch at any more boost with the current shock settings it destroys the tires. The car use to 60’ in the low 1.3X zone with the old turbo 4.8/5.3 on an old 29X12 slick. Trying to dial in the new 315/60 MT DR.

I’m stuck with factory new struts up front for the moment. (Not a lot of aftermarket drag suspension for an Rx-7) I’ve tried launching with and without limit straps and it made little difference.

I have 2 way adjustable struts on the rear set to 4 ext and 6 comp. I believe these are 16 position dials. Does it look like the shock extends too quickly? ( I slowed the video down to .25 and the extension still looks almost instant.) In the video the struts don’t seem to compress again much if at all. So I’m assuming compression is probably ok?

3000lb chassis
30" MT DR (16psi)
6.0 long block (untouched 317 heads)
224/224 @ 113 cam .610 lift
S476
LS6 intake
Assuming 500ish hp at the tire during the launch. Car traps 158-159 on 20 lbs.
FWD ladder mounts are as low as they will go. Car launches nice and straight…

-Thanks!

I'm still very green when it comes to 4 link or ladder bar suspension set-ups but trying to absorb any and all info so i'm sub'd to this.

It does look as though it fully extends right at the release of the t-brake though.

Sorry i can't be of more help but hope to learn along with you......and i feel your pain about front shock options i'm stuck to HKS drag c/o's on the front of my Supra but they are only single adjustable and the only other company thatmakes something double that i know of is Penske = $,$$$'s

Ladder bars need to run level or uphill slightly with a radial. The shock needs to extend at least 2" on the initial hit and hold that extension.

Currently around 3* down from level on the lowest FWD mount. I was having issues unloading 100ish ft out using one hole up which is about level. Moving down a hole seemed to fix that. This was on the slicks though, I'll give it a try with the radials.

Also plan on ditching the 16" pan hard bar and going with a horizontal link for my next outing.

The left shock extends more than the right is the first thing I noticed, like the rebound setting on the right is too tight. B is one of the best chassismen in the game. If he says get them both to extend the same 2" and hold it, that's what I would do.

Currently the FWD driver tire lifts a good 4-6” higher than the passenger. Causing much of the weigh to rotate to the AFT pass. wheel on the launch. The shocks were both set the same. 4 clicks on rebound and 6 compression I believe. I’m thinking instead of loosening up the right I’d tighten up the left… Looks like About 2” of travel the way it sits to me?

On that note… How does one measure 2” of extension accurately?

Datalog w/sensors i'm guessing to be completely accurate?

Doesn't seem like there's any anti-squat in it at all. (Granted I'm not familiar with ladder bars)

I'm used to seeing separation on the foot brake and on the hit.

What are the shock settings and what rear springs are on it?
