Question Guys running 10's, post your RWHP numbers and raceweight

The ET calculators online are not correct(or so I hope not). I believe a 3640 raceweight and 550RWHP should go some 10.70's hooking(high 1.40's/low1.50's). If you have done so please post the numbers on RWHP and raceweight.

With the way my current chassis/transmission/driveline is setup, my old motor dyno'd 384 RWHP. I went a best ET of 10.60 @ 126 MPH with a raceweight of 3280 lbs. I normally averaged 10.70's in the hotter weather.

allen, on your second 10.00 run, considering you where on a dual stage, wouldn't you have to decrease that number down to say 560 rwhp to get an acurate measurement of how much rwhp it takes your car to run a 10 flat. i was just considering that you used the second stage some where in the middle of the run. so, if you where to run 610 rwhp all the way down the track, you should of got a high 9. you know what i am saying? i was wondering since i have the same race weight and same heavy iron motor in front.

Yes...thats a somewhat accurate statement. The only time the second stage was not on was probably the first .5 seconds off the line. It was on the rest of the way down the track through all gears. The 10 flat was just what I ended up running on the third pass. Each consecutive pass dropped a tenth...I think I could have easily gone a few tenths faster with a few more practice runs.

Well Coach your post makes me feel alittle sick to my stomach.
I'm nowhere near 3200lbs,More like 3550lbs and I dynoed 410/399 but looking at FEARS times I think with proper hook, weather I might have a small shot at hitting 10.99 but more realistically I'll be right in the low 11's.

My 224 H/C setup isnt all that bad.
I could add more cam and add another 10RW,throw a lsx/90 mm tb for an additional 15 and be right around 435RW threw an A4.

Something to live for I guess
I could push away from table alittle more too

JS,

The thing with Coach's car and mine is that we both have TH400 with a pretty decent stall converter. These make our dyno #'s suck ***, but I cut 1.39 60's and Coach cuts low 1.4 60's. Both our chassis are setup up for hardcore drag racing (Thank you Madman). It's amazing what a car can run with little HP when the chassis is dialed in. Stock Eliminator Cars for example, they don't make that much RWHP but they put every single ouce of it to the ground. That's what I've modeled my setup after.

Its hard to compare a street car setup to mine or Coach's.

Well said Lee.

It's all in the chassis setup.

It would depend alot on what converter you use. I had the same MPH when I switched from M6 to TH400 because I was running a 3400 stall street converter. I switched up to a 4000 stall, I lost 1-2 MPH but ran a better ET. Then later I went higher on the stall and shaved off ET again, but I actually gained MPH because I made the car lighter.

Everything is relational it each other, HP-TQ/tranny/stall/gear/tire size/race wieght etc. Its just a matter of putting together the right package.

My car weighs 3515 with me in it.

I make a hair over 500rwhp on one bottle and run 6.50's in the 1/8 @ 105 in 3000+ DA. Im cam only with the stock shortblock and heads still in place and one system in use at those times.

FEAR,I have right around 385RW threw an unlocked 4L60E.Thats right around what your unlocked # were w/the TH400.I guess I have a good shot at hitting 10's on motor if I get some good air and get down to about 3400lbs.FWIW,my car 60fts in the 1.45 to 1.53 range depending on the track prep.I still need a adj. rear sway bar.
