2 Step - Need interested people inside I'm happy with how the 2 step performs after testing done by the Colonel <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">
The long lead items have been ordered, and things are progessing.
It now time to get a handle on the initial production quantites.
Pricing is pretty much set at this point. It's looking like $125. I've got a couple pieces I still need to source, hopefully they won't effect the pricing.
Details:
Install is a breeze <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0"> OEM connectors used for the connections to the coil packs. Only 1 other wire needed for operation, namely the activation switch.
Size is the same as the MAFT, as it uses the same enclosure. <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">
Setting the RPM is done by simply turning 2 dials, like on the MAFT <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0"> seems to be a trend <img src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" border="0">
Dail 1 is RPM *1000, Dial 2 is RPM *100
Plug in the connectors, run the activation lead to a switch that connects to ground when you want to activate it, set your RPM, and go racing <img src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" border="0">
It should not be used on vehicles w/ CAT's. The way it operate will pump fuel into the CAT's. A VERY quick way to destory them. If you run it with CAT's, it's your own fault <img src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" border="0" alt="[judgement]" />
I need to order the connectors, so i need a rough guess on who's in for the initial offering.
The longest lead is on the boxes, and that puts availibility date around the first week of April. All the other stuff should be ready to drop into them when they arive.
So, can i get a show of hands.

here are a few reasons to have a 2 step:
1)you have an automatic and are you using the transbrake....you hit the button but dont want to leave the line as high as the converter will let you, so you have to pedal it....not a very consistent thing. So you use the 2 step to set the rpm you want to leave at under the brake
2)you have a manual car. Same idea....allows you to leave the line very consistently every time at any rpm desired
3)you have a manual car with boost: with a 2 step you can have load on the motor on the line and build boost

My biggest motivation was launching on boost. A manual turbo car is a slug off the line. It takes me almost .8 seconds to get full boost even when i leave the line at 6K. That's a ~300 ft-lb diference in RWTQ for me, from 0 pressure to 10 psi. It's like launching a stock motored car for the first half of the 60'.
So now i can launch like i'm spraying outta the hole <img src="gr_grin.gif" border="0">
Consistant launches so you can keep the launch RPM the same and tweak your suspension or tire pressures.
Good for bracket runs, when they allow 2 steps.

Decided to do most everything but engine internals.
Never did hear why it makes the boost - increased exhaust pressure in a half-running engine? Yes? No? <img src="images/icons/confused.gif" border="0">
