LOL! Had ya'll worried about the 'ole Bama Bullet, ehh? It's fine. Nothing broken. What happened?

WILWAXU wins the prize...ONE HELLUVA WHEELSTAND!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> Ya'll thought the one at Steele was high? I think I almost drug the bumper this time. Seriously, it got higher and higher and then the rate of ascension got faster! I realized that she wasn't coming back down on her own. For the first time ever I had to lift the throttle for reasons other than breakage or traction. I got back on the throttle before landing but still....sparks went a flyin' as the header extensions smacked the concrete! What a rush! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> (It was actually a pretty soft landing but those extensions hang pretty low.)

I tightened the front Afcos' extension settings up a good bit to prevent this from happening again. It worked. It never happened again but I also never hooked like that again either. I never broke into the 1.3s. I don't think this was due just to stiffening the shocks. It was a good while before I made another run and by then the track was going. But, I still ran several other 9.8s before calling it a night. 9.7s will have to wait. <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

New mods since the 9.91? Strange front brakes and LCAs from from Jay Billingsley, two step from Harlan, minor weight reductions, and a BEAUTIFUL C/F shaft from Mark Williams (which I'll post pictures of later.) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

BTW, I finally weighed the car. 2800 lbs by itself so that's about 2985 with me at the helm. <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />
