Some of you may know of Bill Walters ("No Mercy" on Corvetteforum). His car was recently finished by MTI and since he lives in Hawaii he asked SW to take his car and run it at the dragstrip for him to see what it would do.

Results:

10.91 @ 129 mph on motor!
9.95 @ 143 mph on TNT wet-kit!

This is a 422ci setup with Colonel's "S1" 244/244 hydraulic camshaft. This is the first Corvette to have that camshaft installed. The car is also a 6-speed, and was run on some borrowed drag slicks with an easy launch to avoid busting the rearend.

Yup, I was there. That thing was badass!

Also SAM SS was there. I left early and his best was 10.0 @ 135.

Tony, Paul called me and told me the good news!!! This has been an awesome week. Two MTI C5's in the nines in one week, and the best part about it is that you could drive either of these cars across the country!
