Default Hoosier Quick Time Pro's

Hey guys, great forum you got here. I have a question about Hoosier Quick Time Pro's. How do they stack up against MT ET Streets? traction? wear? stability? I currently have MT's, but need new tires and I'm leaning toward the Hoosiers since I can get them in 27" tall... but don't want them if they have less grip than the MT's. Thanks in advance.

We have always found the Hoosier's to work the best. Anyone else?

The QTP DOT or the slick? I think they are as good or a wee bit better from what I have heard.

I heard they also don't last as long as ET Streets.

Sorry, the DOT's are what I was refering to. Wear isn't a big deal as long as they hook. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

There was guy running a 10-sec Mustang here that swore by Hoosiers. He said there is big difference between the two. Seems a matter of preference, but they are worth a shot.

I run the 26x9.5x16 QTP's and have never not hooked on them. I have loaned them to friends with Yank 3500 and 4400 TC's that hit much harder off the line and they hooked as well. The best part is no tube required and they fit on salad shooters and fit under the wells nicely.

My best 60' on a 27" X 11.5 X 15 QTP was 1.45 and averaged 1.46 to 1.47 in terrible DA. They hook very well.

Sorry to drag up an OLD thread, but i figured it was better than asking a redundant question in a new one....

Does the 27x11.5x15 fit without major massaging of fenderwells/lip? I am in the air about whether to go with the 27" tire, or a 26" tire. I am on stock rear spring and HAL QA1 suspension. Thanks again for response guys...BTW, it'll be with a 9" w/ 4.30's and a locker.

I had the 27 x 11.5's on the car last year and they fit with no work done except a roll of the fenderlip but that was done previously. You can see the fit a little in this pic.

Thumbs up

I like my 27" QTP`s better than the 26" ET Streets I ran last year. Took me a while to find the right pressure but they are hooking well.

my bud runs the 27' hoosier 1.39 60 foot, they out hook his former m/t tires 1.45 60. i run the m&h racemaster and they hook hard(just broke my bmr tq arm off the car)but i may go to the 27'' hoosier,i can't get to the end of the 1/4 in 4th gear on the 150 shot with 26'' anymore.

I have the 26x11.5x15 QTP Pro’s they work OK in a cam only M6 with 411. Night and day better then the 315x35x15 Nittio’s. I am running cam only car at a poorly prep track trying to launch off a two step. The best is lowering the step down to 4500rpm with 10.5 to 11 psi. in the tires for 1.65 sixty. I will spin them 60 feet before hooking.
I bet that they would work much better in an auto, also I think that the 27 would also be much better if you have the correct gear.
When I was researching them a lot of folks said that they preferred them over the MT Street.
Remember that my experience with them has only been at a poorly prep track.

I am currently stepping up to 28x10.5x15 MT Drag and 4.56 gear.

I just bought a pair of 27x10.5x15 QTP's and mounted them on 7.5" Convo Pros... My 1st time out with them I was cutting 1.5's like candy... they work as well MT Drags! I ran them @ 11lbs cold and used tubes with them cause they would not hold air well after I screwed the Convo Pros... as you can see from the 2nd photo... it's probably good that I screwed them
