Why on Earth would I put more weight on the right rear side of the car?
I would do it because when you hit the gas (wot) the left rear tire is actually not doing the hooking.. Its the right rear that's does most of the work because of the way the body shifts.. This is the reason people run out and buy antiroll bars or put an air bag in the right rear spring.. You need more weight over the left rear tire..

What you see happening there the weight of a battery would not correct that however an Anti Roll bar would as that is what they are designed to do.
The top photo he actually does that on purpose every year for the wheelie contest at Bryon Dragway a somewhat local track to us.
