good times for a bad tranny
What was the problem with your tranny? Was it slipping?
Cheers,
Chris

12.4 @ 112(1.9 60ft) G5 cam with stock heads on ET Streets. Still needs tuning. 4 deg of knock and shifted at 6k. Should have better times within a couple of weeks.

Good luck Bear. Hopefully they will find a few tenths in the tranny and get you running where you want to be.

Ran this a couple of weeks ago in 90+ weather(time in sig). My tranny is also slipping. Kept banging the limiter on the 2-3 shift. Going to have the clutch packs replaced. I'm also going to have LG change my shift points to see if I can get more out of this cam. We are going to use LS1-
EDIT and their wideband dyno tuning this time. Maybe we can finally get this cam tuned properly.

DMoney we have very similiar setups except for the MAcs. I am also in the process of setting up some MAcs for me too. I thought that with the size of the cam and the parts we had we would get better numbers. I ran a best of 12.31 at 111 on Nittos before H&C. Now with them I ran 11.9@114. Seems like something is not right. Maybe this cam is the answer for peeps who want to keep stock heads, but the numbers are low for us S2 guys. Keep the info coming. Where is Crowley?

Lot's of cam work. The question is how much vacuum do they pull at idle.

H/C, ASAP Pulley, FLP Headers, SLP Catback with no cats, FRA, GMAF, LID, cut-out, 3:73 gears, 3200 vig., carbon fiber driveshaft, skinnies, etc. Car dyno once 387 and 391. The best time ran was 11.72 with a 1.63 @117.14 MPH. Of course this is the G5 CAM. Although this may not be a specular time, this time was ran on 17 Nitto's with skinnies on front. This setup has ran several 11.8's with all big 17 inch tires on and cutout not open and hardly no weight reduction. My future plans are to run convo pro's with MT slicks to try improve my 60'time for a better ET. I sincerely believe car will run in the 11.50's with existing setup once I can nail down the traction. I am going to raise my shift points to 6600 with rev limiter on 6800 (everybody on the board seems to use this strategy, so I will follow suit). Currently, my RPM's are set at 6250. I am going to have my TB port and polish and hoping for some more ET there and MPH. I am seriously considering removing rear seats and purchasing lighter K-Member and front upper and lower control arms. Otherwise, this basically expains my setup. As stated, all my runs in the past have been done on Nitto's period. The fastest time my car has ever ran was 117.75. I forgot to mention car has Hal shocks front and back with front Hal drag springs, metco control arms, and TA torque arm.
In summary:
Reaction Time:.529
60'1.630
1/8 7.481 at 92.53
1/4 11.720 at 117.14

Seems like Kent has the best time so far. 11.72 with ALL that stuff. Seems like we all should be doing a little better. I am getting wiery with these H&C people running high 11's with skinnies and LT's and such. I've seen Joe P cars run that with STOCK heads. Interesting!

A lot of the guys running the G5 seem to have really low shift points. If it were me, I'd be winding it out to 6,800 after seeing a few dyno graphs from it. I'm going to be shifting at 6,700 with my stock heads and Comp XE-R 224/112 LSA.

I'm going to have my limiter bumped from 66 to 6800 on Friday along with my LS1 Edit tuning...hopefully can get to a track sooner or later to see how it does after the cam, looking for 120+ traps, with slicks it should see an 11.7 or better...
