M6, Mickey Thompsons & 10 bolt!!
I'm using these 255 50 16 M/T et street drag radials on my m6 for a few runs this October. Will the 10 bolt hold?
Making around 320-330rwhp with bolt ons and 215/224 cam. Im going to be just slipping the clutch at maybe 2500rpm then punching it down the track once the clutch engages. No 5k clutch dumps!!!!
Rear mods are: lca's, relo brackets, panhard bar, bilstein shocks, rear end differential cover with bearing support, driveshaft loop. I need to weld the axle tubes if we get time.
Hoping for some decent e.t's and traps with cooler fall air.
Ran 14.2 @ 101 stockish.

Obviously there's no way to say for sure, but in my case its worked out so far with the 10 bolt. I have 4.10's on a M6 and make around 450 rwhp na, and 600 rwhp on the nitrous. I run NT05R drag radials, and I'll slip the clutch a bit and launch around 3000 rpm

I have a Trutrack upgrade, LCA relocation brackets, Koni STR.T's with BMR lowering springs. That's it. Wheel hop is very seldom, and if I do experience some I just back off right away. With how you're planing to launch, and at your power level, I would think you should be fine. Of course there are no guarantees lol

I am with this guy. Often it's banging into 2nd that will be it's death. Any chance you can work a last minute deal and swap those for some bias ply ET streets? That would help quite a bit to make your rear last.

It might let go shifting into 2nd gear when it hooks. I've seen it countless times.
What are your 60 ft times?
Haven't seen too many 10 bolts survive sub 1.8 60 foots. As soon as a decent tire starts to hook

Just a little info guys! M6 with bias ply M/T or Hoosiers on a 10 bolt don't mix. You do want bias ply tires for an M6 to hook but not radials. The radials will be more forgiving when launching at low rpms. We both have M6's and run bias ply's but with fab 9" rears. Still had the 10 bolt and went racing one weekend and split the carrier unit half into on the burn out with M/T et street bias ply's, had maybe 3-4 passes and she said i had enough, Bang!

Where the **** are you at op to be hoping for a 14.2 with a cammed ls1?? The moon?? You should be trying for 12s even if very near stock on a tire.
My 10bolt was fine in the 1.7 range of 60s. Anytime i tried for more it broke a axle.

2011 grandsport, your post doesnt make sense? Sooo...the tires i posted in the original post, will they be okay since they are a radial? Im only going for a 1.9-2.0 60ft.
HioSSilver, i ran 14.2 stock. And its a cammed lt1 not ls1. Im expecting somewhere in the 12.8-13.5 range at 830ft elevation not the moon lmao!!!

Sounds like you beat on that poor little 10 bolt quite a bit... my opinion is you're on borrowed time. My 10 bolt must've been some type of freak because it held up to 600whp nitrous runs and 425whp motor launches 20 times along with some street driving but i FAR from abused it. I got tired of worrying about it and tired of worrying that the rear would finally let go and take my built trans with it, so saved $3000 and bought a dana s60 from Strange through Midwest Chassis... slapped it in and now I know no matter what I throw at this, I've got nothing to worry about.

My 10 bolt held up in my LT1 with a cc503 cam, 4.10's and 255drs. Idk what the hp was on it but it ran 12.70's at 109. Use you head at the starting line.
10 bolts are cheap.....just send it

lol I know. I read your post I'm like wow the same guy must've put my rear end and his together because idk how the hell that thing held up. 1.58-1.71 60' every single time on drag radials. Idk how that little 10 bolt made it as long as it did, but like I said. I had the money and figured I might as well just upgrade it before it became an issue.
