Exclamation Race suit or Pants and Jacket?

Looking for some actual input from people using a 1 piece race suit or Pants and Jacket. What do you use? What do you like and don't like about it? Thanks in advance

2 pcs has to be more comfortable being able to take jacket off. I've been watching this for a long time but can't see buying it for the little time I spend at the track. Best price by far I found anywhere.

If you're in Texas, do the 2 pieces. Unless you really like sweating

I use Profox and have been very happy with it. Very reasonable price and their suits have a higher TPP rating than the requirements (added protection).

Nice, Good to know. Never heard of them till now.
Do you have their 1 piece or 2 piece suit?
How is it during the peak of summer, breathable?

2 PC to me has always made more sense. Much easier if you have to come back to pits for a short time. Easier to take coat off make needed adjustments and coat back on headed back to staging lane.

I have the 2 piece suit.

I am not a good one to judge. I could wear the suit in 30 degree weather and be hot.

I prefer the 2 piece though. Can put the pants on and wear them for the day and then just slip the jacket on when needed.

Racequip stuff is ok, for not a whole lot of money more you can buy Pyrotect, and I have been very happy with everything I've gotten from them so far.

Opt for a 2 piece suit... unless you're racing a fuel car that requires a single piece suit I'd stay away due to the heat and loss of mobility.

Nitro gloves, and boots, never a bad idea. Extremities can be burned and burnt bad in a fire...

Here is the companies web site that I posted the eBay link to. https://store.racerdirect.net/ I actually called once when I decided I was going to buy the set just to have. Long story short the guy was out of the office for one reason or a another and was having his calls forwarded to his cell. He was helpful and answered all my questions about the sizing but couldn't take the order at that time. Then neither one of us called each other back.

A 2 piece in a fire is like wiping before you poop. It doesn't make sense. Fire can and will make its way up under the jacket. Yes they are more comfortable and cheaper, but a few minutes in a one piece beats the hell out of a skin graph on your midsection.

CROW makes some nice 1 piece multi-layer suites at a good price.

Old thread....
1 piece 2 layer Nomex race suit and Nomex long sleeve shirt and pants underneath.
2 layers plus 1 layer of Nomex underwear should give me 20 seconds fire survival time.
We're required to be able to get out of the car in less than 20 seconds.
A cool shirt circulates ice water in small tubes under the suit.
Nomex shoes, socks, gloves and baklava too.
Full face helmet with Hans device, radios and a helmet blower.

Also a hand held extinguisher and a 4 nozzle onboard fire system.
5 point belts, helmet containment bead seat, collapsible steering column.
If the car works well, I'll have it on 3 times a day for 30 minute races in a road racing the car.
Never see 2 piece suits at road races.
