LOL! It sounds like you're having to get used to driving the car a little more. Get enough seat time, and you'll get used to everything pretty quick. Put a crossover delay in the car, and then jump into super pro. That would be FUN with a late-model car. A practice tree wouldn't hurt either.

You have a 9-second pass coming this fall. Your 60' times are up to .1 off of where they should be IMO. Throw in weather and other squirrel mods that I'm SURE you'll come up with between now and then, and it should be in the bag. It sounds like you're having a BLAST with the car, and that is what counts the most! Congrats on the new best in the heat, and let me know if you need a lightweight racer. BTW, that's a great video! Nothing like a little fried rice while you get acquainted with the car.

I'm SO glad you didn't lose to that Honda Civic in the video

Damn your car is hauling *** past the 1/8 mile in that video, looks awesome! I may have to get one of those tranny/brake setups sooner or later, still looks like a blast!

I'll bet any thoughts you had about selling the car were quickly diminished after finally getting some time off to race it LOL! Instant stress relief.

I was so jazzed about your low 10s after talking with you on the phone last night. That video is very KEWL!!!! Talk about gainging ground like a ****...whew! I love it. I can't spray enough nitrous to even think about staying in your draft, LOL. Congrats, you and your dad have worked your asses off. You deserve a break.

Thanks everybody!

Mike: Sorry I walked out the door yesterday without my ATAP. The numbers are great on the dyno through the ram-air setup. I didn't detect anything sounding like pinging at the track...and the car pulls like a bat out of hell on the top end of the track. I think I'll keep it . I upgraded the tranny for two reasons. The guy who built my 4l60 told me straight up it won't survive behind the stroker, even though it had done good behind it so far. Secondly I have a hatred for the way the shift points are controlled on the 4l60e, and wanted to rid myself of it. If the shift sucks now...its pretty much my fault..hehe.

PSJ: I'm shifting in the upper 6k region. shiftlite is set at 6.4k for first shift, and 6.5k for second. My dad went over to somone else in the pits, and borrowed some wd-40 to put on my shifter...worked like a charm. The guy had two cars there with the same shifter, and told my dad they are notorious for sticking like that (DOH!) guess I'll be carrying me some wd-40 to the track from now on

Dave: Sure wish ya'll could have made it out... I'm anxious to see what you'll be bringing, but I know its going to be FAST, and Fine as hell!

Josh: Something is wierd with my webserver, its not letting me upload anymore stuff, I may need to remove some other stuff first. If I can get em online...I'll post the links. Thanks again for coming out and shooting the video!

Now we just need to have an intervention and get him and 9ball away from the nightly and Women, and back to racing.

I don't think it will work though

Yes, I admit I've been partying alot lately instead of racing. I just got back from a happy hour in fact (at 11 pm LOL!). I've got a date tomorrow, wednesday, and friday already - with three different women . Looks like another week of not racing! (cars that is) haha

Default Crappy weather but new best. Video inside.

Went out to HRP yesterday, and met up with a bunch of LS1tech members (thanks for coming out!). The weather sucked, the DA started off in the 2500ft range, and by the time of my last run was around the 1900ft range.

My first time out with the T350 t-brake ( Turba Hydra ..just for you camaro ) and the hurst quarter-stick setup was a learning experience.

Just to throw in some bloopers , so ya'll can have a chuckle. One run, on the launch I moved my hand to the shifter, and shifted to second right out of the hole...oops. First run using the t-brake, I got all excited and mashed the pedal a split second before hitting the t-brake button, and lurched out about 2-foot. Another run my quarter-stick handle release handle hung , and when I shifted on the 1-2, expecting it to stop at 2nd gear...it went to third. On top of all of that, trying to relearn shifting off a shift light...got to pay attention to that damn thing (Pain met mr rev limiter on more than a few occasions) ...You old school racers ...don't laugh at me too much .

But it was great fun, the car ran great, new and old friends to hang out with...AWESOME day!

My best run was my 5th:
60' 1.465
330 4.254
1/8 6.582
MPH 105.70
1000 8.593
1/4 10.289
MPH 132.75

My 4th run had my best MPH
60' 1.508
330 4.292
1/8 6.612
MPH 106.39
1000 8.611
1/4 10.297
MPH 133.58

Raceweight is definately LOW. 3060, but I weighed 2 more times and weighed 40lbs more then just 20 lbs more. So I'm not sure whats up with that. We were all definately shocked, since I weigh everything coming out of the car, and know exactly how much I've lost personally ...and it didn't add up to being that low ...But I'll take it

The Tranny I love it! The Yank converter...BADASS what can I say. It pulls like a **** on the top end. Once I get my launching skills a little more stable with the new setup. I'll be able to play with tire pressures, shock setting, and hopefully bag me a 1.3x 60'

Anyways sorry for the long post.

Here's a video in windows media format, about 4.5 megs. Pretty sure this is my 4th run.

Video

Can't beat running low 10's in pea soup weather!

Nice times in 1900-2500 DA! I bet 133 mph sure was fun

A couple of questions though:
How do you think your custom ram air setup worked out? Did you find it leaned out the car like some people suggested?
And, were you tearing up 4l60e's so you switched to the turbo350, or was it just a matter of reliability?

Again, nice runs and I'm sure you cannot wait for november-january weather

Aweeome Larry!!!!!!!!!!

What are you shifting BlackBooty at?

I had a Quarterstick back in the early 90's in my Chevelle SS, I removed it and put in a ratchet shifter. I like the new Pro Ratchet a lot.

Sweet video Larry! When you get the car to REALLY leave hard, 9s should be in the bag, even in the heat.
