Default M/T Drag Tire 28x11.5x17

Could not afford new 15" drag rims so I purchased some Mickey Thompson ET Street R Bias-Ply tires to mount on my factory 17"x 9 rims. They tuck inside fender well nicely without any rolling of fender lip. Tire size is 28 x 11.5 -17"

When buying these make sure you get a matched set measuring same diameter. Both of these were taped together and marked 88" and 88" on each tire with white wax marker from factory. I purchased these at a Summitracing retail store. The first set they roll out were not matched and taped together and both sizes measured different 85 1/2 and 87 1/4 . I said hell no and the second set they rolled out was good. So be careful when buying.

The back spacing of factory 17" x 9" factory rims measure 7".

The front wheels are Race Star 17" x 4.5" (2.25 back space) part # 92745245dp with Mickey Thompson 26" radial

Hoosier makes a cool looking bias ply 17" DOT tire and racing slick with big White Hoosier lettering. I kind of wished I purchased the Hoosier.

It took a lot of weight to balance these Mickey Thampson tires ...about 6 oz. each tire.

Here is a more in focus picture.

It is a factory Six Speed with factory ls6 clutch. I know an automatic would work better when racing at the strip. I am new at this, any help would be appreciated...such as rear suspension tips? Car also has Strange single adjustable coilovers with 275 lb springs in front.

Simple 10 second Camaro video. Lots of weight removed and some suspension tricks?

I installed UMI adjustable lower control arms to adjust axle for better tire fit inside wheel well. Tires were rubbing at rear corner at speed so I adjusted control arms 1/8" forward. Also had to hammer inside driver side wheel well slightly. Tires took a little adjusting, but now fit perfect and zero rubbing.
