With the regulator in the middle of the front of the rails like a Y.
You don't mess around with build times or quality that's for sure. Have you ever considered an LS7 style head that flows over 400cfm, could make more HP up at the higher rpm's? Maybe even tame the launch a little. I have no idea at those boost levels, just seems to me like it possibly could still behave similar to a n/a motor in a way, make more HP up top with bigger higher flowing LS7 heads, if they are good ones.

Ive ran the dart 380 ls3 on a 388 ci when I did my first ls3. It felt like a turd until 6 grand. I personally dont think you need that kind of port unless you are rocking a 416+ci.
I swapped from the dart to the 245 and went 3 mph faster to the 1/8th in my camaro. Very like for like stuff. Same boost etc. Car lit up far quicker and everything.
Also the larger the valve, the heavier the valve train, the stiffer the spring needed, the more complex the valetrain needs to be. As well as cost. The 2.100 inch valve that comes with the trick flows are large enough to have issues tuliping them. I wouldnt want anymore of a sail of a valve myself.
In the end I think the bigger head would "peak" more horsepower somewhere along the lines of 8,500 rpm on this cubic inch. Id rather have 20-40-60 less horsepower and have more of an overall average powerband. A car would accelerate quicker being in power longer.

Ive had nothing but problems with king bearings for the past 2 years and unless they make a break through I wont ever use them again. Ive seen nothing but delamination from their shitty "coatings". So on start up the oil gets filled with little flakes. I have to tear down engines and replace bearings for customers. Swap to the same sized clevite or acl and the oil contamination goes right away.
Actually very irritated with that situation.

Regardless. Other than that. The clevite calico coated bearings are awesome. Only bearing Ive ever liked better than an oem honda or gm bearing.

I hear you man, and thanks for the reply. That is very interesting that even with that amount of boost the 245's were so superior to the ls3's (assuming that you meant dart 280's of course, not 380)

By the seat of the pants I could feel where the power was. The larger heads needed the rpm to the point you spin it beyond what the rest of the components need before seeing those expected results. In which I revved it 8,500 just to get it going. I ruined 7 of the intake valves in the first 2 months. Dart recommended I run a titanium intake valve due to the diameter, weight and spring pressure needed for 6,500+ rpm. They said out of the box with the .700 lift springs they really dont recommend them for what Im was doing.
So I made the switch and couldnt have been happier. I love the 245's. Ive spun them out 9,000 not that they are making peak power there but they didnt hit a wall by any means.
Im sure if I added a few points of compression, radical solid roller, billet 3-4" intake runners, I could make it work better. But that just isnt worth it to me. Ive been really happy with the reliability of this last combo. The valve covers came off once in 18 months. That was for a cam change. It took 20 months of abuse before I finally had any engine issues.

Question, what E85 fuel filter do you recommend after the pumps? I am reading about expensive 10 and 6 Micron. My other FI car had a 30 micron after the pumps.

Sorry, I know this was directed at Kenny, but I used a napa fuel filter mount with napa 10 micron screw in filters. I think I have less than $40 into this setup.
As 9's out of 10 said. Ive tried a lot of filters and as long as they are not paper I havent had any issues. Ive used summit brand alum bodied with stainless mess and been great. I have the aeromotive now only because I have so much money into it everywhere else it wont hurt.
