Re: Help me pick a new converter! hmm you will get a tiny bit more shift extension from the gear swap. Not sure on what converter is best I am sure Patrick could help you out on that. I would think the TP4400 you have now stalled down to TP4000 with the same STR would work great.

Re: Help me pick a new converter! I called yank and they suggest I mail it back to them and have it changed to a PT4000 like you suggest Chris. They are only going to charge me $100 to change it. Way to go yank! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: Help me pick a new converter! can't you program it to lock up at a certain rpm automatically and then unlock right on the shift?
or could you have a setup that does that?

On the 12:1, I run a mix of 91 and 103 octane at the track. 91 on the street. It pings a bit on the street with 91.

Help me pick a new converter! The TP4400 was perfect with my heads/cam setup (4500rpm flash, 5700rpm ext), but now that I've added 50rwhp/60rwtq it's too big. I used to only lose 10rwhp locked vs. unlocked, but now with the larger motor I lose 30! Here are a couple dynos:

My current setup flashes to ~5200 with an ext of ~6200. I'd like to get back down to 4500 and 5700. I'm looking at the TP4400E and the ST4000 right now. Will either of these get me where I want to be?
