Here’s some pics of the Vacuum pump. Had some requests to see how I routed it etc. Some extra slack in the line to the breather. I plan to update it at some point

So what pulley is that coming off your balancer? I have a GZ Motorsport vacuum pump with a Meziere race pump. AC and power steering delete. The guy at GZ sold me a mandrel that mounts to my balancer and I run the belt straight to the vacuum pump. I hate that mandrel and I see you have a nice alternative.

Here you can see part of the mandrel

This is what mine looks like. I hate the big mounting bracket as well.

Ah fasterproms tuned it nice! Looking forward to the track times coming soon. You going to ditch the converter and go looser down the road depending on how it does at the track?

Nice! Looks like a cool build. What is it?

Mine is run off the stock tensioner. You’ll notice it in the pics now that you know what to look for. That’s probably why he hooked you up with your version if you don’t have the accessories/tensioner.

Yep! Was cool to go and see the shop etc. Jeremy was cool too.

I plan to run the 3600 for now and think I can go low 11s with it. I do think it will take more to push into the 10s so I do have a Yank PT 4400 on its way as well, but it will probably sit and wait for a bit. I’m not anxious to put it in yet. I want to get to the track and see where we are and dial in from there.

Thanks. It’s a SBE LS1 with 62k miles. Mamo heads, Mamo MSD, and low lash solid roller. Performabuilt 4L60, stall around 5300, Strange S60 with 4.10s full suspension, Vikings, you get the drift. I’m kinda like you I’m trying to see how fast I can get this LS1 with a sbe to go. I’m almost done converting it to a Terminator XMax.

Stock tensioner? I think I still have mine somewhere. I don’t know if it’ll fit with the race Meziere pump but I’ll try.

You’re doing a lot of weight reduction. This car here weighed 3240 without a driver with full suspension, Wilwoods, the S60, and Kooks exhaust. No intentional weight reduction. Since then I deleted the HVAC, tubular K member was added, race carpet, pulled the speakers, and misc wires and heat shields. So not sure what it’s going to weigh now. I’d guess 100 lbs lighter.

It will be interesting to see the track comparison on the SS3600 to the PT4400, We run the PT4000 in my wifes cam only setup and its been 1.41 60 ft on hers so far at 3250lbs, we are really hoping the mamo 102 fast will get hers into the 10.50s, as its been going 10.80s with the ls6 intake. Sometimes I wish we would have went a little looser on the converter.

Nice! That’s awesome. I would love to go down that road as well. If I ever reach my goals for stock internal I plan to go can only, reach those goals and then go SBE. I’ll probably be able to go to antique plates before that happens though 😂

Have you brought your car to the track? If your looking for help in the weight area I’m happy to just send me a message and we can go into more detail on your car etc. 3240 without trying is pretty light especially with a s60 but there’s plenty more to remove if your wanting to go after a number

Impressive, I wonder if the set up is the same as in the article, either way that car works good

Minimally he changed from the lid setup and his original ram air to his "pro mod ram air" which is the one I'm running now. I suspect there was other changes as well, but that is the one I can see visually. I'm sure if we cared to go through his build thread we could figure it all out. Definitely a worthwhile read as well for anyone looking to maximize. I've been through it while it was happening back in the day, but been too long for me to remember.

I got my car all ready to race but it has rained out the last two track days. The next one is Feb 1 so hopefully I can get some baselines of where I'm at and go from there. I'm not sure If I will "crack the egg" and change things until after that. More parts have been rolling in tempting me, but I may just leave it alone and concentrate on the family until I race it.

Got some “old style” Racecraft Kirkey brackets. The “new style” ones I have now are 7lbs according to the Racecraft website but I forgot to weigh them myself. They felt very hefty and made me start looking into differences. From pictures I guessed the old style were lighter.

I weighed the old style brackets and they are 3lbs 5.1oz.

Nearly 4lbs less! Crazy!

I wonder what the race weight was? Either way the big takeaway is the 60’ time here.

Awesome thread!!!!

I couldn't get my GZ pump to mount with my Pro Stock ram air

Get the newer LS starter, titanium hardware, carbon fiber drive shaft and titanium lug nuts as well

My hardtop is 3089 pounds with ac ps full interior with stock wheels. You can drive it anywhere. Tons of weight in these cars.
If you change converter again go billet.

Good luck with build

Thanks for the input Mike. The reason you couldn’t get it to work was likely bc it was a mandrel kit and not an fbody kit. I know because you sold it to me stating it was a new in box fbody kit and it was neither new in box nor an fbody kit.
