Using racing wheels + street tires on a daily driver?
I was thinking about buying 6 racing rims. Not sure which I like Weld or Bogart. I am wanting a set of 4 for daily driving and a pair to run ET streets at the track. If I took a pair and put my Nitto 555R on them could I used them for daily driving?
The wheels are like polished aluminum or something right? what if I hit a bump or a decent size rock in the road would it bust the wheel?
Thanks,
Lee

Bogart makes different strength wheels. I believe the custom offset bogarts that PPO offers are the stronger street worthy ones. I would call Bogart and discuss this with them. The extra side wall you will have from running a 15" rim and 275/50/15(?) Nitto will absorb a lot more shock the stock 17s with a 40 series. I rolled around on prostars front and rear for a couple of months and never had a problem on these damned Louisiana roads.

I dont wait to hit potholes...I go around them.
I've had big and littles on my car for almost 2 years with no problems.

You'll be fine on the street with Welds. Bogarts are awful light, so I'm not sure how well they'd hold up to a lot of street driving.
BTW If one pair is just for track, then skip the ET Streets and get ET Drags. Unless you're running in a class that requires DOT tires.

Yea I run Street Legal on the weekends. I'd just like to have all the wheels the same at the track so I was hoping to buy an extra set to put my nitto's on and run around on the street. I just dont wanna bust a $200+ racing wheel if I hit a something in the road.

bogarts are like 300 per rim vs welds like 150 per rim. something to think about too
