Back from TMP :) New best today
DA was ~750 feet today (Great for TMP)
This new clutch and DS combo is AWESOME
I couldnt hook the ET Streets at all (Launching at 4500rpm I spun all the way through first gear LITERALLY till the shift light came on)
Here is the best timeslip of the day
60' 1.706 (spinning)
330 4.885
1/8: 7.519
mph: 94.95
1000: 9.766
1/4: 11.624
mph: 120.72
Backed it up with an 11.64 and 11.68 both at ~120mph and low 1.7 tire frying sixties
With a 1.5 sixty and better traction 11.3's should be attainable
Also saw Wade from ARE run 8.97@154 mph OFF THE FOOTBRAKE! (Transbrake wasnt working properly) 8.7-8.8 off the brake for sure
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Back from TMP :) New best today
thanks man
It was the most fun I have had all year at the track. It is nice not having to worry about rear/driveshaft or clutch failure anymore hehe

Cool, Chris!!!
I take it you aren't missing the auto tranny? You seem to be real happy since switching back to the M6.

Thanks guys!

Definitely, I think I am going to go for the OSCA shootout on Oct 18th weekend (either Sat or Sunday) Track should be prepped very well. I might try my 28 inch Hoosier slicks there as well.
GeorgeC,
I think I have always been a gear rower at heart heheh
JS,
Realistically I think I can get down to around 11.30-11.35 at this raceweight with a 1.5 sixty in similar weather. I would love to go 11.20's but I am going to need a mineshaft DA day I think.
Raceweight yesterday was around 3425 (had a lot more gas in the car trying to get it to hook)
Good luck with your car

Thanks Jason I never missed a gear yesterday and only tapped the rev limiter once when the car revved so fast from spinning (that was on my best pass 11.62) That clutch is the one of the BEST mods I have done to the car
Patman
I was spinning if I launched at 3500rpm as well. The clutch just shocks the tires so hard. I figured I better stay fairly aggressive with the launch in case I DID hook for one good pass hehe
Ragtop 99
Cecil is in the works for the spring. I would LOVE to run the car with the CECIL mod
Tom the roofer,
Thanks Tom I cant wait to see you back to the track with your new combo!
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Back from TMP :) New best today
Nice times. The weather is getting better. Can't wait to get to the track after the Ocean City car cruise and show and test the new setup. What pinion angle are you running Chris? Congrats.

No Southern Shootout for me and my car but my wife and I are flying down to spectate.
I hope to make it to Cecil for some shakedown runs in late November and again in December. If the weather is good I will make the trip several times to dial the new set up in. Then again a few time in the spring. Man I miss racing.

Re: Back from TMP :) New best today
Chris, when are you going to TMP again? I was thinking of going on either Friday the 18th or Saturday the 19th. This is the J&P weekend, so I wanna beat some stock Mustangs.

Re: Back from TMP :) New best today
I am planning on heading out that weekend as well. Not sure what day though. (I have a show that sat night so I would have to get back in early enough for setup/soundcheck etc.)
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Back from TMP :) New best today
So maybe Friday night works best then Chris? I heard that it should hook very well even though it'll be a Friday night street night, since there will probably be quite a few Mustang guys doing test and tune with their sub 10 second cars. So I figure the cold nighttime air combined with a good hooking track should be a recipe for great ETs! I'm shooting for 13.7s with my (nearly) bone stock LT1!

Re: Back from TMP :) New best today
hmm I will clear it with the wife and get back to you
The only thing I hate about Friday nights (besides the traffic) is waiting 2 hours to get a single pass in.
The weekend days are usually better for getting multiple passes in if you get there early and tech early.
I might go out real early on Saturday and get there around 9:00 and swap all the tires etc before the gates open. Then run straight to tech and then wait for the lanes to open Would you be interested in that?
Cheers,
Chris

Awesome Chris, glad to hear your car is coming around. I'm still glad you saw the light and went back to driving your car
