New "cam only" times

New "cam only" times Previous best was 11.83 @ 115.76. On that day I was banging off the rev limiter HARD on the 1-2 shift and the 2-3 shift was too low.
Today's runs, DA was -280, and the track was hooking very well, dead hooked every time!

11.843 @ 115.15 (1.61)
11.827 @ 115.14 (1.60)
11.760 @ 115.30 (1.59)
11.776 @ 115.07 (1.60)

Overall I'm pretty happy considering my weight (3450) and the fact I don't have a pulley or an LS6 intake yet. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> I think I should have better 60ft times w/this converter (vig3200), I still have my free restall, so maybe over the Winter I'll do that.

I also got the Vig. 3200 and 3.73 with bolt-on and cam only.
I ran 11.60 @115.4 with a 1.53 60ft.Get that 60 ft down a little and you'll have some 11.5's !
BTW: What cam did you go with?

Slick, I went w/a Comp Cams 222/222 .563/.563 112. Sometimes I think I got screwed and have a vig2800 when I see other cars 60fts w/the 3200 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
Roy, next week I will be at the Southern Shootout, just watching.

I have the Comp 224/224 .563 114 cam with a vig3600 and ive only been 11.7 @ 114.7. I went 11.95@112 before cam though on nittos. After the cam I can hook for squat on the nittos still. My best 60 is a 1.64 to 1.65, before I could cut 1.58's with the 3.23's

Re: New "cam only" times Slick98, I picked up that cam used w/about 6000k on it for $175, couldn't pass it up. I'll probably be around PSJ and the rest of the Chicago crew at the shootout. I'll keep an eye out for you.
JNorris, the best I did w/stock internals was 12.15 @ 112.25 (1.61). I really wanted that 11.99, and in better air I think I would have gotten it, but I couldn't wait any longer to get the cam in <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Re: New "cam only" times Mark: what are your shift points set around? Also what rpm did you launch at? I use to leave around idle to 1300 rpms before cam, but im wondering if i should leave higher now. But hell the nittos wont hold LOL. Hopefully ill have a good idea what to do when i get slicks!

Re: New "cam only" times 98TA, shift points, according to the stock tach are about 6350. I've tried to launch this car a thousand different ways. I found that if the track is hooking I stall to about 2300 and just slam it to the floor, that usually gets me 1.59s to 1.61s w/the occasional 1.58.Your 3600 might like to be stalled up more.
