Madman you should have kept trying with a LT1 it would have been that more impressive. How hard is it to build the piece you have and run what you did honestly? This is not a dig at you at all.

Well, when I go to Club Si, I expect Honda Si's. BMW has a site just for their M cars. And what's the name of this site?

Why is it a surprise that some don't think that a non LS1 isn't a fair comparison??? There are sites for different types of cars. I know a guy locally here that wouldn't let Madman in their club cause he's about 2 seconds too slow....

My point here is that Madman made some awesome runs and should be proud of it. But to challenge ARE with their LS1???? Bring your LS1 to ARE and make sure your wallet is full!!!

And I don't think you want to spend your money against them on an LS1 race.

Madman don't care what motor you got. LS1, LT1, SBC. Madman races, he don't rent the track and post times, he goes to real races "like Thunder Shootout, Englishtown, Bristol, etc." and wins with a stock-style suspension. So whenever you're willing to play, the $3000 is still on the board COME GETCHA SOME!!

Does this mean I still need to cross the Mason-Dixon line and you still won't show up?

Which sponsor is Madman associated with? Note to self....don't buy anything there.

Actually, it wouldn't matter. I have an LS1.

I'll look him up once I get that rocket engine in my minivan.

I met him once in bristol and been reading his posts for a few years...he just doesn't talk as much as when he isn't racing, once he runs a number his mouth follows

But we are all guilty of that

what's with everyone jumping on his back. yeah he went faster, but he's not claiming his motor is better or anything. he's just stating that he went faster with a stock style suspension. isn't that a good thing? to see the advancements that these cars and our sponsors have made to give us the best quality part? he has a right to be proud. took a lot more work to get there than most of us, and definitely ME will ever know. if you read the other topic by josey, you'll see that he even says, "A.R.E. builds great motors...." he's complimenting them on their advancements. if a goal is reached, and it's not done the way most people like, that person gets flak. ****, next fall with my carb'd gen 1 sbc in my '94 Camaro, i hope i don't get hurt too bad.

He's being dogged because he's being an arrogant ***** with ARE. Go back and read his posts.

There's a classy way to celebrate your accomplishments, and then there's his.

I'm not a big fan of Madman's, but I think he is way ahead of the curve when it comes to the F-bodies. If and when people start to make some serious power, what Madman has is what it will take to withstand it. The stock block/electronics are only safe for so long, after that, it's time to ante up for what Madman built.

MAdman, I say pill that bitch up and see what she has in it.

Congrats.

His **** was Flyen. Madman was a Cool to me both times, shook my hand and wish me luck and safty. Congrads on the great runs I have the time slips to prove it.

Guido, the "clowns" aren't putting down his accomplishment. It's his "out of class" comparison with another sponsor.

It would be like me taunting a sponsor with a bolt-on record that my H/C car runs faster. See what I mean?

Madman I am embarrassed for you, please stop.

congrats madman!! you are flyin!!
i've ordered from madman before, great guy, great service, and great parts! he's always there to race. he kicked butt w/ his firebird and now he's kicking butt w/ his camaro.
in my opinion, if we want late model camaro/firebird racing to grow, then we have to start looking at other powerplants besides the lt1 and ls1.

I mean, you guys taunt about how badass the LS1 is and how all our primitive SBC and LT1 stuff is inferior. ANd now that a SBC EFI stock suspended car has gone faster, and its a normal visitor to the forum and an enthusiast like the rest, everyone has to throw this up in his face. Like a yea so what type of attitude.

Screw that.

ARE isnt going to be like that. Im sure they will be very congratulatory and there wont be a mention of "Yea but its not an LS1". They know the score as well as some of the rest of us.
