Back in Oct, my '02 SS 3.23's, stock dual-dual w/345hp lid, asp pulley, HPP3, FTRA, SLP lca's w/airbag, and the ET 8.5x15-26" Drags & stock converter= 12.82's, 1.92 sixtys,108.3 mph consistently. Hoping the SS 3600, LG Motorsports 2&3/4" Y Pipe w/2 cutouts will bang out some 12.0's for me this spring--if this snow ever melts! Best wishes Steve. WJ.

Yeah, it didn't help that the track was sandy either. The pits at this track are sand and grass. No pavement. ALOT of sand makes it's way onto the track from there.

Will you be at MMP this Friday?

John

Hey, glad you stepped into this thread!

"12.0s are going to be tough even with the new mods without the help of some weight reduction or some great air."

"I agree with your numbers and agree that if everything falls into place the car can run 12.0x but it is not often that it all comes together at the same time."

"11s now…. It will be very hard to do. You will need great air, traction, a great converter, some weight reduction, a stiff tail wind, and luck! If you can cut a 1.57 60 and trap around 112.5mph then you will have it."

MMP this weekend? After those comments from a certain doubtful buddy of mine, I wouldn't miss it for ANYTHING! Wanna place a little friendly wager that Project Stealth busts off some 11s Friday night? That 7.50 was with a DA of about 620 FT. It's a safe bet it'll be pretty negative Friday night.

I may even strap on a set of ET Streets and disconnect the front swaybar just to make sure I can pull some 1.5 60s.

Stephen,

Well it seems like I am eating a little crow!
However you did leave out the positive part of what I said.

"I agree with your numbers and agree that if everything falls into place the car can run 12.0x but it is not often that it all comes together at the same time. The DA for this past Friday was -1479 at 6pm and -1603 at 7pm those DA numbers will be hard to beat. However you do have a secret weapon… the “Colonel Factor” which is worth .1 - .2. If it can be done you will be the one to do it!"

I am not willing to wager on anything however I do not see 11.7s this Friday night in your full weight fbody with your existing mods. If you do it then the factory made a mistake and put a LS6 in your car!

Hmmm...11.7s in current form? How do you like your crow prepared? I hope to serve up a little more of it come Friday night. ET Streets are on order as of in the morning! No other mods except for LCA reloctors to help ensure stickage.

OK the only changes will be ET Streets and LCA relocation brackets.
Do you put the LCAs in the lowest level in the relocation brackets?

This will be my first track outing since the addition of a TR224, SFC, and LCA relocation brackets.

What time are you going to be there?

I like my crow well done!

"Do you put the LCAs in the lowest level in the relocation brackets?"

Absolutely.

I plan to be there when the track opens since that's when it hooks best. 6:00

That's definitely doable. All I need is .03. Might just leave the DRs on and disconnect the front swaybar for this weekend. Not sure yet.

How big of a roll do you think LS1 edit played in making your car run so good?
Thanks, Larry

Colonel,
Congrats on the great times. That car is amazingly quick for such mild mods. Must be like John said, "The Colonel Factor".

I finally got my Cutlass going again. This time it's a solid roller 409" sbc. Maybe we can hookup sometime next racing season.
Take Care,
Kevin

Heeeey, wassup K1? I thought you were still on vacation?

That's one hella fast Cutlass you got there. 7.38 in that grocery getter? Yeah, I think we're gonna have to tie up sometime. Would be a good race.

I bet you aren't as surprised with that 1.62 as I was? Coming soon...traction!

Hi Stephen,
I have to try your launching technique. I have the same tires as you, with drag bags and the best I can do is a 2.0 60' launching off idle with the ASR on. I'm going to start practicing your style next time at the track by stalling it to 2300 and briskly rolling into the throttle.

So far my best times are with the ASR on even if the engine kicks off after the 60' and starts back up again. So I do have to practice with the ASR off using the stall and roll method Stephen is doing. I want 1.6 60's.

EXCELLENT RESULTS! This is why we're adding the TCI converters to our transmission section of our web page. Those are some great 60' times for a 3500 stall and stock internals. Once I get some new timeslips after the heads are bolted up, it will be time to swap to a tighter stall and bolt on a TNT kit. It's hard to beat the TCI converters for their performance and softer "hit" on the wallet. I'm anxious to try one out!

Colonel,
Yep, I'm still on vacation this week, but I have to keep up with what's going on in the LS1tech world. I'm really not that surprised with your great 60'...I think I predicted 1.63. 1.5s should be easy with some slicks. Your car would really perform with a TNT or NX 150 shot. I'm thinking mid 10s.
Take Care,
Kevin

Colonel,

I am glad to see you made it to the track. That is an awsome short time. K1 is right on 1.50's 60ft. I hope you enjoy the converter. The next time you are around here give me a call. I always enjoy meeting someone who likes cars as much as me.
