Default Alignment for drag/street car?

I DONT want my car to be a total drag car but lets face it I've only put 11K Miles on it in 4 yrs. That being said,Should I do my alignment w/ME sitting in the car or should I do it w/o me in the car?

Also should I align it w/my race tires and the car setup to race or in street mode.I would think I should align it like I race it but I'd like to hear from Madman or other susp guys.

Madman helped me with my TQ arm and thats all done.I have the air bag at 25psi/RS shock tighter than left and the car seems to like the adjustment I've made but I still wanna redo the alignment for the front of the car.

Put the tires you plan on racing with on the car. Set the caster with as much as you can get. Usually 5-6 degrees. Camber at 0. Tell them to set both sides the same DONOT set the car up for road crown. Now for the important part. Set toe at 1/16th toe in at ride height. Then raise the front end up till the front shocks are almost extended, recheck toe. Then squat the front end like its under hard braking. Recheck toe. NEVER!!!!!!!! have toe out. If you do the car will hunt for guardrails.

Brian, we have followed your advice for alignments and have done Magnus' car that way, and mine, and they have worked really well. We did our own.

A guy a work with runs oval asphalt and we were talking about alignment settings and this is what he says.

On oval half mile asphalt setups if the car is toe'd in it darts really bad on the straights.. they run 1/8 to 1/4" toe out to keep the car from darting when accelerating in a straight line. Would the same be true for a drag car??

Oval track racing is totally different settings. You run alot of preload in the chassis to make the car turn. If we have to turn on the drag strip we are F%^&ed.

How are you guys doing the align. yourself? I thought that you had to have a rig to do that right? Any shops in CT that can do that type of thing?

You cant have your cake and eat it to. The car wont wonder that bad on the road. I would rather have to hold the car straight on the street than try to knock the wall down at the track.

No.

Its not going to wander. All its going to do is pull to the right a little.

Is the toe in spec for each front wheel or total toe in?

Thanks
