Who's got the fastest "stock" bottom end LT1 out there?
Who has the fastest TRUE "stock bottom end" LT1 out there and what have they run?
Meaning right from the factory bottom end...no bolt changes/ piston changes/ crank changes...you get the idea...

i went 10.54@132 with lots of room for improvement. a 9 second pass would have been easy if i spent more time on that combo

it was a LT4 head/cc306/nitrous/6 speed combo. since those runs i have lost 250lbs, improved traction a ton, and i didnt have any dyno tuning with that old combo, i was just running on a borrowed PCM file that was pig rich. on motor my best was 11.34@121. i dont have any DA figures for any of my runs, all i know is the track is at 662' altitude

A guy locally has a home turbo'd 97Z that he's gone 11.84(i think) at 128mph in his 6 speed with a like 2.2 60 foot. Headers and the turbo setup and cutout, no tuning. He just swapped for a stalled th400 and we'll see how he runs this weekend in Ennis

4.33 with a 28" tire.
heads were a Lingenfelter stage 2 CNC job, with a little more porting done by Second Street Speed in PA. i guess they found 9cfm more at peak on the intakes. 2.00/1.60 valves. i bought the heads used so i dont have any flow #s. fwiw the runners on them have a LOT less material taken out of them than my buddy's stage 3 GTP LT4s. i think the runner volume ended up being perfect for a 350 at the rpm range i was in, but that they are holding me back on my 396 now.
fwiw the heads were origionally done for a heavy car, with high boost 383 done by 2nd Street Speed

A local, SAR2K, has a stock top AND bottom end and ran 11.94 @ 111.50, 1.53 60'. No cam change. No head change or porting. I believe he has the fastest STOCK LT1 out there.

The reason I ask....
I've gone 10.61@112 (not enough cam for the powerglide). We are installing a new cam this week to get me through the traps (it's a lunati 242/252 525/540lift 110lsa).
Combo should be good for a low 10 "maybe" high 9, just wanted to see if I would own the rights to the fastest TRUE "stock" bottom end LT1.

good luck with your project
i knew somewhere along the line somebody would get a 9 second pass out of a stock shortblock, maybe you will be the first . i really would have liked to try for it, but already had a 396 in the works before i even found out my stock shortblock combo could run that strong
