The link worked for me... It said John Campbell ran an 11.21... I thought his car ran in the 10's.

Re: OFFICIAL Spring Break Shootout Results!
The link should work just fine, it just goes to another thread in the Spring Break Shootout forum, I posted the results over there.
John's "Pepper" had tranny and engine issues all day. I think he might have hurt the engine this time, it was smoking VERY bad at idle. He also was running full weight.

Awesome! Looks like the event was a blast! I hope the South has more to offer by the time North vs South comes around though, 9.66 will not cut it. Us Yankees will show you how to get it done.
Congrats to all!

We will all meet up soon enough at Bowling Green where we will all be on the same playing field. Looks like they got a taste with what we put up with all year long. North vs. South shootout should be a lot of fun.

Re: OFFICIAL Spring Break Shootout Results!
Poor air up North? Try running in Houston during the summer. You guys up North get awesome air days just like everyone else, its just that your tracks are always closed. HRP stays open all year long, because Southerners are more serious about racing
BTW, I ran 11.18 at Bowling Green with my 382ci two years ago, and then ran at HRP the very next day on the way home and still ran 11.17 without changing the car. The DA was pretty similar that weekend.

It snowed every day here in the month of February. At 17 degrees out, the DA was pretty good though... I haven't raced since November.... We are starting to get a little anxious...

Yup that 9.60 pass was nothing. The car has 8 passes on it now after the shootout. We haven't even begun to tune the car. It will go a bottom 9 easily once tuned. And that's still on the first stage

Re: OFFICIAL Spring Break Shootout Results!
I want to thank everyone who has been travelling to the all the events...
We are in my opinion into the third year of organized racing, and it's starting to come together.
BG has a lot of pre-pays so the car count should be the biggest we've ever seen for a competitive event like this. So far no races have hit over 100 cars. BG has enough prepays to hit a new record for number of entries. If you folks take a chance, especially those who are within 5 hours of BG, we can hit the biggest number ever. BG is 5-6 hours from Chicago. Since all the racing is on Saturday, us Chicago folks will be home and back online by mid afternoon on Sunday. NFRA 2001 had about 75 cars and we had a great time in spite of the event being a few days after 9-11. I hope to see stronger participation from the BG locals, Sn-skinner make sure to get the word out!
If you live in a neighbouring state and want to support the race, come on out!!! You can at least bracket race and check out the cars that you have been reading about for the last five years on the web.
I'm putting my project into high gear, I am ordering every last item on my list and I am going to try like crazy to have the car at BG.
Competitive racers in the NMRA deal with different altittudes and weather conditions all the time... Folks who raced at Bradenton a while back ran 2-3 tenths slower than what they might have run at Baytown due to high humidity. Some folks might have been off in 60ft but others probably took more time to play with their shock settings.
I hope to see 150 cars entered at Bowling Green.
Tom, let's talk about getting a dedicated photographer, when the new site goes up we will have places for articles.
