As soon as I finally get the new motor in my car, its tow vehicle time.

05 GMC 2500HD Extended Cab 4X4 w/Duramax and an H&H 20' x 8.5' EX Speedloader deck trailer. Black truck, black trailer, black Camaro.

Custom made by myself. I am very happy with how it turned out, but spent more $ and time on it than expected. Tow with a 99 Yukon 3.73's and 112k miles....

Thumbs up

Thanks for the compliments Guys !

As for selling them, I do not believe there would be many people willing to dish out that kind of money to make it worthwhile for me. I have more $ in materials than most half-decent trailers cost complete.....But it does have a winch, batt, etc. I think I went overboard, but it really works well for what I use it for. I have approx 2500mi on it this year with my car on it, and no problems so far. Even had an Impala SS on it for a trip. I made long ramps ~75in that slide out the back on nylon, that helps for my low car loading. It is pretty quick and easy. No tilt, but it does rock with the weight when I drive the car on. Removeable fenders for opening door on trailer (again my car sits pretty low).

I plan to be at Cedar falls, IA. this sat, and Tri-state on Sun. Be sure to say hello if anybody is there.

BTW: I am looking for some cheap aluminum rims for it. 15 x 6-7" 5 on 4 1/2". E-mail if anybody has anything.

I've got the 18' H&H Speedloader tilt bed too and love it. My car won't go on a regular trailer with ramps unless it has like 10' ramps. With the tilt bed I can drive right on it.

Here's what will be my tow rig when the Camaro is finished. It will only be used to haul to really long events, or when I'm going to be running slicks at the strip.

If that doesn't work, here's the link to the image: http://chevytruckworld.tenmagazines....port/95142.jpg

I'll post mine up. The trailer is an 18' Anderson, full diamond plate, brakes on all 4's, hide-a-way ramps, recessed tie-downs, blah, blah blah - $2100.

Used to have a Chevy Dually, but my Dodge drives so much nicer.

Quick question for you guys with low boy open trailers. Is their enough room for you to open the door and get out over a door bar. I went and looked at a couple tonight and my doors will deffinatly hit the fenders and I'm not sure if there's enough room to get out over a ddor bar. I'm not sure on the width but it was the widest open one they had, maybe 8-8.5' (just a guess).

You get a close 2nd. A Black Ext. is so much more sexier . Bought the black Ext. with the chrome rims to match my, Black and chrome car and black and chrome Imperial trailer. Pics soon. Nothing like the *** end of the truck to adjust too the weight by itself when you put the trailer on . Boy from ur sign it looks like we share the same taste in automobiles, and mods .

I can. I do not have a door bar, but my car door can open completely. I made removeable fenders just for that purpose. I figured once on the trailer, I did not want to "Dukes of Hazzard" it all the time. If I winched it up, I would have no way of closing the window if I needed to steer at all pulling it up. 102" overall is the legal widest I believe, maybe different in some states. I am 81" for platform. I designed it with just enough room to get the door open with fender(s) off. I looked for the shortest tire with the load rating I needed, and made the trailer as low as I could. My car sits pretty low, especially with the y-pipe.

I would look for something you can get the doors open on. Much nicer.

I have the hyd. tilt 83" deck open trailer. With the 26" tires I would have to remove the fender to open the door. With 28" and taller it will clear without removing the fender.

I can clear the fender on mine, but I bought one with a real nice pinned/removable fender.

Different trailers have different fender heights. Measure the bottom of your door to the ground and then take your tape measure with you when you go trailer shopping. Just measure from the deck to the top of the fender on the trailer and compare it with your door height.

Removable fenders are usually an option for most trailers, if you custom order it.

That's a great idea, I never even thought of making a removable fender. I found a slightly used trailer that I like so I would have to rig up the fender myself. I'm not sure of the deck hieght but it's about the lowest open car trailer I have ever seen, which is the main reason that I like it. With the skinnies on the car my front airdam is about 2-3" off the ground.
