You guy's and this stock suspension BS class,??? WTF! I don't see the point why build a 1500+ hp turbo/nitrous motor for the car and never really be able to get the power to the ground or for better words struggle to get the car down the track without totalling the car or killing one's self.
Drop the change and start a tube chassis buildup and then really feel what that hp can produce, 1.1+ 60 fts and so on.

Because then you have another tube chasis race car, theres a challenge to work with that you got, thats the whole point. If that wasnt the case, then why mess with an LT1/LS1, just throw in a big block, tub it and 4 link it.

It's also the only stock suspension F-body ever to run 7's. Despite the various attempts that anyone here has ever tried. It should be very clear that it is not easy to do. Rick put a ton of work into the car and it makes serious top end power. But, if Rick Head did put a better suspension under the car he'd be running in the bottom 7's with the rest of the outlaw 10.5 guys. If you ever notice in the videos that he doesn't even launch the car hard on boost. But he definitely is screwing boost to it after the first 300'.
As far as I know there is not a single large racing series other then NMRA that will support a stock type suspension. Plain and simple stock style suspension classes get no sympathy votes in the ranks of Pro, NSCA, etc.
If you truly cherish running on stock suspension, stick with it, but you will be seriously outgunned by the other backhalf cars when you try to race it in a class other then drag radial. And since no one here is running consistent 7's on stock suspension and drag radials, I'd venture to say that everyone here who is not backed by big dollars is seriously outgunned anyway.
The point is, you can go fast using whatever legal means necessary, because everyone who doesn't hold their races on the internet really doesn't care. And unfortunately on race day, those are the guys you'll be facing.

Thanks guys on the props on the cage, I have had a few drag cars and this is the nicest cage I have had to date.
My car is a purpose built drag radial car, “stock” suspension and I feel I have the car to run way in the 7’s. Now coming up with the 1800-2100hp to run that fast at 3400# on a drag radial and stock suspension, at this point I do not have.
Rick’s car is bad a$$, he is sporting 2000hp and comes off the line easy and brings in the power as it can be applied. He is currently the fastest man in drag radial, no and’s, if’s or but’s!
It takes all kinds to make up this world, in the drag racing world, some race heads up, some bracket race, some run index… but when it comes down to it, its what do you enjoy. If you don’t like something, you don’t think its smart or don’t see the draw in it, that’s cool, but racers who run drag radial see the class as a challenge, it’s a major feet to put that much power down on with a limited suspension and on the DR tires and go fast.
I for one look forward to racing with and against Rick, it was not over night success for him and the hard work him and his crew have spent dialing in the car has paid off.
On a side note, I enjoy seeing the pictures of the f-body’s built, its great to see the craftsmanship that we all put into our cars! So thanks to all who take there time to post pictures!

No, I had a local guy about 30 miles outside of St. Louis do it. This is his web-site www.beilmanfabrication.com with a few more shots of my set-up. Jerry Bickel's shop is close and sends the guys that just want a roll bar or 10 point in a street car to him. Bickel pretty much does just full chasis cars now unless you want to spend some big $.

Stock interior minus back seat. A/c still blows around the dash bars. Car is 3650+ and best pass on old N20 setup is 9.92. backed it up with a 9.96 on the next pass.

Pics are old. I'll have some new pic's soon.
The sheetmetal is done and pretty sweet. The cage did not meet certification requirements as is so Stenod is in the process of making a couple changes to get the cage 25.5 certified.

Wow, this is a old thread! Here's a sneak peak of my 25.2 cage that we are putting in. We're a little further ahead of these pics at the moment. Getting ready to do the sheetmetal on most of it next.
