Default Race car with t-tops?

Ok so here's the situation I've been wondering about. I wnat a 4th gen t-top car. But wanna go fast 10.8's-9.90's depending on if i wanna spray the car. So the cars gonna have a welded in 6-point cage subframes all the goodies there. So if I'm lauching a car that makes around 600-700 lbs of torque will it still twist enough to mess up the t-tops? How many guys on here run t-tops into that range? Or does everyone just go for a hardtop if they're gonna make a race car? Any other help would be awesome

Theres a couple guys on here, the cage and a set of subframes should keep the chasis stiff.

My car is a T-Top car and it holds up to 9 sec passes fine. Harlans T-Tops still come in and out of the car after all of his passes too. A 6 or 8 point and some subframe connectors will definitely keep everything together.

As far as body rigidness, the fourth-gen f-body hardtop and t-top cars are identical. All are built as t-top cars. The only difference for the hardtop are small metal bars along the roof near the doors to help support the plastic roof.

only problem a 6 or 8 point won't certify if you want to run 9's legally so you would be stuck at 10.doh's

Only problem is the T Tops are heavier

FWIW, mine stop leaking after I installed the 8 point a few years ago

Quick way to see the difference, jack your car up with the jack at the rear lifting point and you will lift the rear off the ground. Jack my t-top up with 6pt and SFC and the whole side lifts up using the same jack at the same point. First time I went to change tires after the rollbar install I was freaked out with that fact.

Default Race Car With T-tops

I Dont Have That Much Power But I Think It Will Do Damage Good On The Subframes And Anything Else To Stiffen The Chassis

i run 11.90 with a t top 80 TA and running at 13.7 without subframe connectors, the drivers side popped the first time i hit the pedal. with the connectors, they dont pop anymore. at 11.90 i can hear them tweak once in a while, but they seem ok to me. once when i pulled a small wheelie i heard everything tweaking and popping and pinging and i looked up and i thought i could see light in the cracks.........
