im not sure about your question but as much power as your making and as fast as your running i would get one just for my own safety. if the flywheel come through it would tear you a new one!

I think Fireball just did one, it's a good idea.

It's better than having the clutch explode and cutting you feet off.

NHRA is 11.99 and quicker for a bellhousing, if NHRA rules are enforced at the event then yes you need one. Dont know whats going to happen with C5s though, kind of a can of worms so to speak. I know someone makes a trans blanket type shield that goes around the bellhousing but I dont know if its legal or not.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-racing-tech/268942-status-pictures-my-winter-upgrades.html

They were in jegs last time I looked.

edit, guess not in Jegs - I was thinking of lakewood and just noticed Fireball's was a McLoed.

My installation story

https://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-transmission/258875-mcleod-sfi-bellhousing-installed-pics-info-within.html

Also...It better be enforced. If I'm carrying the extra 30 lbs...then so should every other M6 car

Rules are rules right???

Fireball, do you know the part number of the sfi bellhousing? Because the only Mcleod bellhousing for an ls1 on summit says it is not sfi approved. It is the 8710. Is this a misprint?

when it originally came out it hadn't been SFI certified yet. The Mcleod 8710 is now SFI certed.

but it helps and is better then nothing
im hoping the ls1tech series wont be to strict about this cause there will be alot of people not racing.
its easy to get on and not that expensive. it will work for me untill i can fit the belhousing into my budget, a cage needs to come first.
