Default How to launch in a M6???

I have what's on my auto signature and that's it, I want to launch with my M6 stock clutch, stock rear end, and stock gears. What do I do, and how do I do it?!?!?!?

ehh.. don't launch hard!
i'd be a bit nervous launching hard with the mods you have and the tires because theres a good chance you'll break the 10 bolt

Yeah I know, I dont wan to launch at like 3500 or 2500, I just want to know how to get off the line quicker with my set up. I wish I had your 12 bolt and some 4.10's. U have a m6???

Well try 2500 and see how much wheel spin you get. I always launch F-bodies and Vettes at about 3500 with a good bit of feathering of the clutch and gas. for me thats just enough wheelspin to get moving.

m6. i was always nervous without the 12 bolt cause of the horror stories i've heard. and sadly, if you want to get off the line quick, you need to launch at higher rpms from what i know.. but then again i just started this drag racing game

Feather it just a little off at about 3500. Try to preload the drivetrain by having the clutch engaged just a little. This will lessen the shock to the rear end and you'll have less chance of breaking the rear end. Goodluck

stock gears and clutch are hard to get outa the hole hard. when i had my 10 bolt, if i let out the clutch too hard, the tires would spin, and if i diddnt let out hard enough, it would slip. it just take alot of practice to see exactly what your car needs. since you have the traction, its time to worry about other stuff. i'd start saving for a rear end, then you can beat the **** out of it

i have 4.11's in a 12 bolt on 315 nitto drags now. i can put it to 3500 and side step the clutch. its such a good feeling to feel the RPMS surge down then the car come off the line and leave in a hurry.

When I goto the track, I keep the clutch in, rev it up to 2300 or so, then as I goto launch it, I just feather it out. It takes alot of practice getting to launch the way you want it to. It was even harder for me since this was the first car I ever had that was a stick.

I usually go to 2000 RPM's and let the clutch go, not dumping it but still letting it out quickly. Works pretty well except i spin all through first and then halfway through second, but i guess you'll always get a little bit of spin, yours should be a little in first though since you've got them nice tires on there lol.

I leave the line at 2k and slip the clutch with stock gears and rear end. It takes time and a lot of practice for me anyways and it's easy to get frustrated because it's so easy to spin to much and kill your 60ft time.
good luck.

i try not to launch to hard, normally, ill just take off a little quicker than i usually would normally driving, and then just make up lost gound. lol. i cant afford a rear, so i try not to go from digs too much. even a 5mph roll helps

I just let it idle around 2100 or so...punch it 3/4 until it grabs and then the pedal is placed to the floor.

that is good advice....you are going to want to launch it and then give just enough throttle to not let them spin...then get yourself to wot and start rowing the gears

Stock 10bolt. I run my bfg dr's at 16psi. Heat them up, Leave the line at 4500rpm Slipping the clutch out. Seems to work. Doesn't slip a tire, doesn't bog down.

And how exactly does your stock clutch hold up to that?

I hold mine at 3500, and let the clutch go pretty quick, not dumping it and not slipping it either. I still have the stock 10 bolt with the stock gears as well on Nitto's, but I do have a Spec 3 clutch... I cut 1.90-1.92 short times like this, and it isn't leaving hard enough to tear anything up.
