we would get 3 or so guys around the front or back end of a car and pick it up to move it side to side or slide over something

Front suspension is intact minus springs.I was shocked at how light it is.There is no way the car weighs 2000lbs as it sits. And yes we had the tires at least 6" off the ground.
We've done ever weight reduction mod that I can think of.I've spent hours under and in the car with a grinder or torch eliminating anything that isn't absolutely necessary.

2500lbs has already been done with 10pt cage. This is of course without driver but the car can get Speedglass and rear hatch added to the weight savings and it could even go down to 2400lbs. This is completely legel car to run down to 8.5 in 1/4 with a choute and wheelie bars. It is all about where you can get the wieght out at. There is tons of places that people don't even look.........

Your crazy. Just have to do it I guess before you really know how that is. There wasn't to may bolts even used. LOL no CF on the car whatsoever. It did have sheetmetal door panels but had stock dash with everything remove from behind it. It is pretty easy to get these cars light. Plasma cutter works wonders. There is like 40lbs of brackets and unneccery metel inside the car that can be cut out. Then the tubs are heavy, the brakes are heavy, the stock hood and hatch are heavy including all the brackets and latches and shocks to hold them up and keep them down. Carpet is heavy, light wieght rearend and suspension, along with light cage and driveshaft. PG is a must have for a light car. The glass is heavy. The wiring harness is way heavy, way heavier then you think. No PCM or BCM or Security. Light weight steering wheel and column, and then all teh little stuff adds up fast. You can't even tell the car is hacked up really. It is covered up very nicely.

I knew these cars could get light. I'm at 3020 w/o me and I have not gone crazy by any means. I'm sure there's tons I could do to get some more weight out and still keep the full interior and stock look.
The problem with me getting lighter is adding ballast for a race. I'm not real keen on the concept of adding a ton of weight and completely changing the car's setup.

If there was a class to race in where a car that weighed 2400 lbs was legal, I could see a point to getting it that light.. but seeing how our weight rules don't allow anything even close to that.. what's the point? if you have to weigh 3200 or whatever it is... why get the car a ton lighter then that? I understand that putting the weight where you want is a good idea, I've raced radio controlled cars for years, and we get those as light as we can and put the weights on all different places on teh chassis for tuning purposes.. but there's a point that it becomes a hassle to put the weight back in.... kno what I mean?
I'm all for going for the lightest possible race car... hell, I'v ethought about getting a v6 car to do exactly that to... just haven't gotten aournd to it, and really see no need for a car that I need to add 600 lbs or more to in order to go to a sanctioned race with.

To be that fastest non tube chassis F-body I guess. Putting 600 lbs on does kinda suck but atleast you have that option. Street races and heads up racing is always better with a lighter car. IMO
The car has BS3 so it doens't have the standard PCM.

2,850 lbs w/o driver here.
There is still a list of things I could do to drop weight.
I could get mine into the 27XX's with the light weight brakes and keep my carpet and interior
