You seem to have forgotten to put a stock piece back in the upper assembly. I can't see what else it could be. Look at a stock assembly and compare it to yours.
Swapping front shocks/springs isn't difficult.

I know it is easy, thats why I don't know why this thing is clunking. I have done lots of spring swaps from imports to domestics, including my car twice. I had stock springs, then sportlines, then put stock springs in back to gain a little height for my true duals, but cut off some spring. Well, I'm changing the top bushing, which is pretty thrashed anyway and I will c if this helps, later and thanks for all the HELP guys.

Ok, pulled out the assembly again and I now have pics. U can see right where the top of the shock, where the nut threads on, is hitting the top of the fender well. There actually is a small indent.

Even if I were to cut the top off, the shock is still moving up all on its own about a 1/2 in. and it will still move freely, just w/ no clunking because I will have cut off what is hitting. So this still really won't fix my problem.

How low is your car sitting? My springs are about 1 1/2" higher than where yours are at and I only have about an 1" between the tire and the fender. I can only go up about another inch, it looks like you have about 2 1/2. Try adjusting them so the spring sits another inch higher and see if it still hits.
You also could put some washers on the other side of the mount and then put the bolt back on. It would just shorten the amount the bolt is sticking out on top.
To be honest, I don't understand how the shock could be moving if that top nut is tight. Is there space between the nut on top and the piece it tightens to on the underside of the mount?

I would suggest removing the spring & test fitting the upper mounting parts without the spring. You may find that while the nut is tight there is still up & down movement. I just installed the same setup including 275s on my car with no issues. BTW & not that it makes any difference to your issue, it appears from the pic that the jam nuts are missing from the top stud on the shock. Hope this helps.

Thats wierd, my car sits lower than yours by a good inch but my springs are set higher? I don't get it. I'm stumped, if I think of anything I'll let you know.

the reason for different heights on the shock is simply what springs you have. If you have 275's you have to crank up the nut on the shock higher than you would with 300lb spings, same goes for 325's

This has happened to my friends car.We installed new springs and shocks all the way around.Come to find out that we were missing some spacer thats on the factory stuff. After we put back that washer or whatever it was there was no more clunking.Your gonna have to look at your stock shocks and see whats on them and not on your new ones. I did this awhile ago so im not really sure what we had to remove from the old shock but I do remember that it looked like we didnt need it and after tearing it apart again I kicked myself in the *** because it was a very simple fix.

Dame: I checked the QA1 website, and there were some kits that came w/ poly bushings and Aluminum spacers. The guy I talked to at QA1 confirmed that my kit did not have any of these things w/ it and they would not be needed for my application. That is all I wanted answered, just did not put my ? in enough detail I guess.
