Default Lightest battery for daily driving???

well im needing a battery for my v6 camaro, so i decided to get a light one for the z28 and put the z28 battery in the v6!

So im trying to save weight...and i use to have a yellow top optima in another one of my cars...piece of crap 200 dollar battery never cranked!!!! well hardly ever.

So whats the lightest battery for a street car, daily driven?

i heard the 13 pd. Hawker/Genesis battery is strictly track and some drive it dd, and others have problems...

whats the optima red tops weight in at?

I've had good luck with the Hawker PC680. I don't run much for electrical items though. With a dailey driver the 25lbs PC925 would be a good option too. My Red Top was about 42 lbs.

Here's how I mounted mine if your intrested.

M6 is a metric thread size and SS is stainless steel. They are describing the hardware for the battery

As long as you're not running a lot of electronics you'll be fine. I don't run a/c and only have an aftermarket head unit with front and sail panel speakers. I haven't had any problems. And as far as charging it, it's just like a normal battery.

Plus it's a dry cell which means it can be fully cycled (i.e. totally drained) and recharged a **** ton of times before it will take a crap. Conventional batteries are usually gone after just one or two cycles.

Also, the battery that SUX2BU posted is the same battery.

Is this setup better than relocating the stock battery to the rear on a daily-driven car? I've always wondered if battery relocation had any ill effects on a daily driver.

I'll put it to you this way, would you rather move 35 lbs to the back and add another 15 lbs of cable, battery box and on/off switch (for a total of 50 lbs of battery stuff) or would you rather take 23 lbs out of the car completely (for a toatal of 12 lbs of battery stuff)?

What about better weight distribution? Isnt it better to keep the same weight but be able to get the front up quicker?? I dont think this mod is really for weight savings on a drag car is it? I dont know much though, what do you guys think?

I think the goal would be a 50/50 weight distribution. So taking away front-end weight is like adding rear-end weight. I'd rather go with the lightweight battery that takes away overall weight. Like said above, that 0 gauge wire and distribution block add weight.

Here is the battery I run http://www.gotbatteries.com/Productp...ctNum=37L105S1. I have had it on the car since March 25th (right at 6000 miles)and my car is a daily driver. I even have a underdrive pully and the car cranks everytime. I have stock electronics in the car and always have my stereo on and my lights and stereo on when I drive home from work. I mounted mine just like GM Musc. did. I made adapters so my stock cables fit.
