9.99/135+ rollcage rule?
what's exactly needed? 8point or 10point? I always thought it was just the 2 extra bars thru the dash with the halo was enough? I was told it needed that plus a cross bar in the front, plus 2 down bars off the main hoop and different door bars? so if you have a 6 point you might as well cut it out and redo it all...
Any input?

you can add on to a 6-point with the halo and 2 front down bars, but I believe if you have swing-out door bars you also need a rocker bar from the front down bars to the main hoop. You'll also need a window net.
As mentioned above, a rule book is the best thing (or hitting up a chassis shop) to find out EXACTLY what is needed. Some people start from scratch on a roll cage, but it can be added on to a roll bar if you want.

someone told me that the wolfe door bars with the slight dip in them wasn't legal for 9.99 or slower and needed to be replaced with a standard diagonal bar. Anyone here know for sure?
I was looking at the wolfe front half kit and it does include new door bars, but I'd rather not have to cut out my doorbars.

i didn't see anything saying they could not be bent but you will still have to cut and nothch the front of the door bar so that it attaches to the new bar that will run down along the a pillar to the floor

The bar can be bent, not sure about removable swingouts. Just has to cross your upper arm between your elbow and your shoulder while sitting in the car. You also do not need the dash bar if the car has the factory firewall.

This certified to 7.50 the last 2 times, my understanding the next time it will only be good for 8.50 with the new 25.2 & 25.5 rules. It seems alot of the tech guys don't know for sure, depends on how much of the firewall or floor has been cut on.

Alright heres my question: In the nhra book it states that when your main hoop is welded to plates on the floor, bar D(which is the diagonal bar that goes from the main hood towards the center of the car and attached on the floor behind the drivers seat) must be welded to the subframe. By subframe do the mean it has to be connected to the actual subframe assemble like where the lcas mount or what? On wolfe's site, they just show the bar D welded to a 6 x 6 plate on the floor. You can see the bar in this pic:

Because the cars are unibody and the subframe is really not there, you can go with a 6x6 plate welded pretty much anywhere in that general location. Mine is located on the trans tunnel. That particular bar you'll see done 50 different ways because of how that rule is written. I don't think you'll find any particular issue with your inspection if it's there.
