Default A4 shift RPM

Heys guys, i'm going to race (1/4 mile) my brother in his 03 Mach1 on 09/01. I have Vinci Tuner and was wondering which shift program to pick, stock or performance? Not sure if raising my shift RPM with a stock cam is beneficial or not. My car is an 2000 A4 with stock cam, converter with 3:15 gears. My bolt-ons are blackwing, lS6 intake and longtubes. Anyone with this tuner let me know if you have any advice. Most importantly is that I beat him!

Hey guys, any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Just can't let that Mach 1 win. I'm going to More Performance on thursday to have mike give me a tune before the big grudge match. Don't want to leave any performance on the table. Just have to get a good launch. Thanks in advance!

mine shifts at about 6000-6100 rpm with stock programming and mods listed below. I'm not familar with the tuner you have, but I'm guessing that a much higher rpm shift point wouldn't help much over stock.

If you are going to More Performance for a tune just let them tune it.

yes, set the shift firmness to performance. if you set the trans shifting to performance, make sure you are using at least hiperf/stock cam tune. if you use stock/stock, you'll hit the rev limiter.

The big grudge match is over, and another mustang went down! My dyno numbers 333hp and 338tq. I ran 13.2 @ 106mph. Had problems getting traction off the line as the track was quite slick. All in all not to bad. Thanks again for all the info.

I don't have the slip with me, but he was in the low 14's. It wasn't even close according to my wife.
