Default Drag cars, how do you have your exhaust set up?

I just cut up my H-pipe true dual system and needed ideas on what to have done. I have 1 3/4 stainless steel Kooks heads w/stainless steel Bassani ball & socket flanges, and 2 Dynomax bullets. I had a local shop fab me up the exhaust, but was too quiet/tame for my taste. It sounded good, but not the sound I was looking for. Anyhow, that setup went all the way to the axle where it dumped. I would like to get away from the H pipe setup. I'd like to do a X, but I dont have the room with a Spohn torque arm. Anyhow, just wondering how you had yours setup up. Pics are a plus! Thanks.

I had to have my X-Pipe and exhaust custom fabbed around my spohn torque arm. It was done by a local shop and was really pricey. ($900) Unfortunately, no one makes anything specifically designed to get around the spohn torque arm. It is a pain in the ***.

I should have some pics up very soon, because I am going to be selling the set up. I should have pics tonight. As soon as I get the up on the shell, I'll post them up here.

I just run about 20 inch extensions off the collectors turned down and out a little. Here's some pics:

Right now i'm running a 5" down pipe dumping out the passenger side under the car...haha i know that doesn't help. Alright but anyways i did have a x pipe set up with the old motor. I was running a bmr extreme torque arm. Came off the headers then went right into the x pipe and then i had 2 sweet thunder chambered muflers with turndowns. It sounded real good but i don't know if the sweet thunders flowed as well as a bullet.

To all those with mufflers right off the collectors, can you please post pics? I thought about putting my bullets there, but wasn't sure if I had the room and from the looks of it, seems like it would hang down low. PLEASE post pics, thanks.

i'll be running 3.5" bullets off my kooks 3.5" collector headers with an outward facing turndown. later on in the future i want to do the exhaust like a NASCAR style with the flat pipes...looks pimp sounds even better.

I can take pics tomorrow when i get home(cars on jackstands right now). The passenger side fits perfect, the drivers side i flatened the bullet to where its still round all the way thru but it been "sandwiched" as far as i could get it with out getting the inside out of round. You will have to have a little bit of pipe between the header and the bullet (just a few inches to drop the whole bullet about an inch to clear the frame.) cause it can't come straight off the header and i also beat up the frame a little so it can really hug the car. I also didn't use any hangers for them just slide them in about 3" and clamp them in place.

BTW i have solid motor mounts so i got the bullets SUPER close to the frame so they dont hit and they tuck up real good too.

What would be the quietest bullet muffler to run directly off of the collector?

a bullet muffler is a style of cheater muffler. they are pretty much the closest "muffler" to an open pipe. they are not made to be quiet. but i LOVE the sound. wouldn't have it any other way.
BUT the wife will not ride in my car due to the noise. and no A/C. but mainly the noise.

Heres a couple of pics i snapped real quick. Keep in mind i unbolted the rear of my k member to get the tranny out (solid motor mounts) so they are hangin lower then they actually hang. i'll get some on the ground ground clearence pics after i put the tranny back in. As for now i'm outside waiting for the big brown truck to drop off my converter.
BTW i daily drive this car and its kinda loud the first time ut you get used to it real quick.
sorry for the chitty pics left my digi cam at the apt.

Yes but for my set up it made no differance in et. I've tryed 16" and a turn down. Then just a turn down with no extension. Then my current set up.

Track tested only. No dyno information.
