Default lowering 60ft times

Ok!! What do i need to do to bust some 1.5- 1.6 60 ft times. ive done subframe connectors, tubular adjustable rear control arms, panhard bar, torque arm, strut tower brace,no front sway bar and even got battery in rear hatch. my best 60 ft has been 2.0xxx on nitto DR. my car is a 2002 TA with 6 speed. Im running 12.8 at 113 mph. My 60fts are killing me. ive seen a stock internal go 11.99 on a 1.5 60ft at 109mph!! If anyones willing to give up there secrets id really apreciate it. pm if you got to!! I just picked up some weld with MT street radials. Im hopeing something simple like control arm relocation brackets or a diff spring setup will set off all the other work ive done to fight twistys!! Thanks, i have a 230/236 cam. id like to leave the line 3500-4000 to be in that power band. as of now i can only leave 2kish spinning..

Weight is a big factor. Skinnies in the front will help a lot. And better tires (ET streets). What rear end? you should have a 12 bolt or 9" to launch hard enough on slicks.

12 bolt with 4.10's. got skinnys now too. couldnt belive the weight difference.
did the math. i lose 78 lbs by running welds. damn zr1 with tire weighs 57.5 lbs x 4 wheels = 230 LBS!!!!! WOW!!!

I don't know about secrets for a 1.5/1.6 60ft. I have stock sup. (except for DMS springs) and cut 1.6's all day long with MTDR's and an auto. Get some take off rims and some track tires.

I'm getting 2.0 60 ft. times with a stock suspension and street tires. Sounds like maybe something is out of adjustment suspension-wise. I have no idea of your time or experience at the track, but I'll still offer the "practice, practice, practice" advice.

dunno bud, i dont have wheel hop, car stays staright as an arrowwhile driveing or burning out... checked pinion angle.. ive raced the car about 30 runs, last time i ran i figured ill try letting it eat. beacuse when i hooked at 2000, it falls on its face... i launched 2500 and instantly broke loose... i hit 2nd at 6200 just to start roasting tires. had to let off and hit it again... 2.4 60 ft... Ive watched my runs and it seems there is no weight transfer. with my front sway off my car only raises up a few inches. but im also spinning out of the hole too.

Good Track conditions can make the biggest diff. I pull 1.6's on Nittos 17psi and there bald! on a good preped track surface. I have pretty much everything I have everything you can buy for sussp. except springs, sway bar, and adjustable shocks, which is next on my list, that new UMI torque arm can't hurt either, just have to sell my old BMR trans mount one first before I bust a tailshaft.

To hook on the street like I do at the track would be a dream come true and to hook at the track spraying out of the hole...

When my car had completely stock suspension on drag radials(about 14psi) it was cutting 1.72 60ft. On slicks that bogged the car down a bit it ran 1.60 60fts. But I noticed one quote that may have answered your own question

but im also spinning out of the hole too.
If this happens everytime then there are your 60 differences. I don't know about the cam, but my car is a bolt on car with 3200 stall and I found that it leaves better only stalling to like 12-1400 and then wot.

take that STB off they are useless on a drag strip. Get some adjustable rear shocks. Make sure your LCA's are both the same length, make sure the rear end is centered in the car, check your pinion angle and get some good track tires.

I was under the impression the STB helped tie the front shocks to help pull up the front even?? reason bmr makes an X-treme duty version for the single digit cars?? please correct me if wrong?? will no bar help weight transfer??

thanks for all the replys so far... as the spinning goes ive tried numerous psi's with no real difference... the car isnt lowered so i shouldnt have lost CA angle.. pinion angle is good.. how would i know if rear was truely centered??

Measure from each rear tire to the outside edge of the wheelwell. If both measurements are the same, then your rearend should be centered side-to-side.

are you heating the tires enough? you should see rubber ALL over the rear bumper/fenders. get a line lock and shift to 2nd gear during your burnout

You should be able to cut a sub 2.0 60' in a stock M6 car with nitto's. How are you launching the car...holding at whatever RPM and dumping the clutch? If so that's not gunna work for a good 60'. You need to be slipping the clutch off the line while applying power in order to hook well and not bog. Learning the proper way to launch on M6 can take a while...just takes practice.

Run us through your typical staging routine from burnout to 2nd gear.

Ok... made another run last night with the new MT radials. got in wet box used line lock in 2nd. spun untill they smoked a lil. let off line lock and draged the car untill they grabed/squealed.. launched the car at 2800 on 18psi. car actual dead hooked for the first time and poped the front left wheel off the ground.. only problem i didnt go anywhere. car fell on its face and almost stalled with pedal to the floor?? car has a slight hesataion and took off again. 2.1 60ft. I wanted to launch harder but my clutch didnt like the first run at all. im going to drop the tranny this week and check my clutch out. hopefully its just air in it after installing mcleod adj master.
