You can get a 3rd party to anondize the rings fairly cheap in nearly any color imaginable if needed. As far as needing the bead locks. If you run a 1.35+ 60' it's not a big deal. I would get about .5" of wheel slip on the rim without screws. Right around there is a good time to start screwing them if they start slipping really bad. Screws can certainly hold the wheel where it needs to be. However, if you are looking for sub 8's on a drag radial or 1.1x territory 60's, the bead locks would be a touch much for the money. I will say that they did do wonders on Harlan's car in keeping the tire square to the ground. It's also a snap to put new tires on at the track without having to screw around with trying to unmount and mount the tires.
