Racecar progress photos
Here are some updates on my drag car project (98 Formula).
I finally got the Aluma-Stars drilled/mounted/screwed and put on the car. These things are much lighter than the Pro-Stars I had on the car. Gave the car a wash and clay-bar job, it was filthy. Next up is the interior, I have some black Corbeau seat skins, and black Speed Inc carpet to install. As you can see, Madman did an excellent job on making the Wolfe 10-pt hug the roofline and windshield. From outside the car, you can only see the main hoop, just like a regular 6-pt would appear. Shifter is a TCI Outlaw. Tires on the rear are 28x10.5, the Billingsley rear axle is narrowed 2" on each side, so I have a 15x10 wheel with 5.5 backspace. Same offset as a '69 Camaro.
I'll weld on the 3" bullets and turndowns probably today, and then the car just needs an alignment to go make some passes on its current 440 rwhp heads/cam motor. I need some practice with the T-brake and line-lock since I've never used one before and have never owned an automatic racecar before. LME has finished building my iron block 408ci with AFR heads, that will be for the turbo setup I plan to build. Still haven't decided which turbo setup to go with, but most likely a single 88mm for True 10.5 events.

It was ordered notched. Madman has some special tricks for installing them to make them hug like that. The car also has Wolfe thru-floor subframe connectors.

Is it certified to 7.50? It seems some inspectors are giving 8.50 stickers and some 7.50 stickers.. It's kind of a cluster, but it should all be over by midnight
