Default Where to get HALS rebuilt and how much?

Just curious who to send 'em too to get them rebuilt and how much it costs, and what the turnaround is? I'm thinkin my rears are pretty shot, the ***** won't even click anymore, so i'd like to get 'em freshened up while the car is in the chassis shop gettin the cage done, but I need them back to put back in the car before the no bull race at bmp april 22nd. Thanks for any help guys!

Hal Lees is still in Florida. He is the originator of the Hal/Qa1 shock. I will try to find his phone number.

Yeah, a buddy had put up his number a while ago on our club website, but when I searched for it and called it, it was disconnected, so I assumed he wasn't here anymore, but a buddy of mine found another number, i'm gonna give that a call today and see if it's the right one, but let me know what number you have in case this one isn't correct. Thanks Brian!

The guy at Naake told me that sitting was the worst thing for my shocks. All of the O rings in the rears were brittle. That is the majority of what he did. My car is not a DD and sits all winter. This was worse for the shocks than any drag racing.

I ended up callin QA1 and asking them where to get them rebuilt and they gave me the two places closest to me, one in tampa and one in tennessee. Called the one up in tampa and they were slammed and said that it would be a good month or two before I got them back, which definately doesn't work for me, so I called the place in Tennessee and they said 2 weeks, and I let them know that no matter what I gotta get 'em back before april 22nd and they said no problem, so I yanked 'em off and sent 'em out.

I need to send mine in also. One front one is jacked; went to adjust it, the fricken adjustment **** unscrewed from the body, leaked a lil oil, so I quickly screwed it back in. This was about 4 months ago, been DD it since and raced a couple times without adjusting the fronts, which sucks. So, soon I will be back in the mainland and will have the time to do this.
Thanks for the naake link.

Who was the place in Tampa, and do you have a number? One of my fronts is leaking again...

Thanks.

the rebuild just depends on what is wrong with them. I paid 180 to have my fronts rebuilt. btw, it costs $1 to upgrade to "R" spec. call QA1 and they will tell you the closest place to rebuild them

I don't think it matters how it is stored. The issue is that the O Rings do not get lubbed due to lack of movement. They dry out and crack.
