Default Cage Requirements (T-Tops)

Guys,

I have a 2000 TA with t-tops. Im looking to have a cage or rollbar installed in the next couple weeks. From what I read in the rulebook, you dont need a full cage till you hit 9.99. I was talking to the guy that will be doing the install and he mentioned that if it has t-tops you need a full cage at 10.99. The car ran a 11.02 this weekend as its first time out, and I plan to spray it latter this year or next. What cage is required for mid to low 10s in a t-top car?

Roll bar is all you need with T-tops with them on.

For T-Top equipped cars, there are two possiblities ONLY!

Race without the T-Tops, all convertible rules apply.

Race with the T-Tops, all hardtop rules apply.

It is that simple!

The track that I go to says a 6pt. is needed that it is 11.49 or better. I thought that was an NHRA rule or something. I don't know. All I know is they have shut me down a few times for running too fast!

a 5/6-point is good to 10.00's or 135mph...135mph plus and you need a 10-point now

Have a copy of the rule book with you, each tech guy thinks he/she knows the rules.

You need a full cage. If that thing does not get fairly deep into the 9's on jug I'm kicking you in the junk soccer style

Also I believe for 9.99/135mph or faster you also need a nhra license or some kind of license and a whole bunch more saftey equipment.....

License, SFI jacket/pants/gloves/neck collar, cage must be certified, more SFI-approved parts.

Some say 11.49 others say 11.99(like IRP).
